What's power mining?

Featured Replies

This is a real noob question, but what is power mining? (I'm aiming for lvl 99 mining on my new account, and want to know whether it would be useful for me to try it.)

Basically instead of banking your ores, you drop all of them where you're mining. You get faster exp this way.

That is correct, if all you want is mining xp, dont bank your ores but drop them right away.

Powermining is done whith iron and later granite for members.

Quest cape obtained at combat level 83, march 07.

Beware though, banking your ores gives a bit variation in the mining drag and allows you to store up wealth potential, but if you really want to be a hardliner, powermining is the right way, I guess.

Powermining comes from classic

you could keep mining and the ores dropped automaticely

now u have to waste time to drop them or trade them so u might aswell bank them and sell them later

powermining or not, 99 mining is a long way ;-)
