Alright guys well I'm on my wya to 83 range while training slayer to 65. Please don't comment on if I'm dedicated enough to get either and just answer the question at hand.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My question is: What type of ammunition should I use for training range?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Bronze Arrows - 7gp each

 

 

 

Iron Arrows - 14gp each

 

 

 

Steel Arrows - 30gp each

 

 

 

Iron Knives - 30-40 each (can someone tell me the standard price)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Which is the better OVERALL between:

 

 

 

Speed of Range Xp

 

 

 

Consistent Hitting (least 0's)

 

 

 

Price (this is important to me as I still want to pull of a profit while training slayer)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I know knives are the fastest, but are they really worth their price?

 

 

 

From my point of view, even though bronze arrows hit less consistenly it hits THE SAME as iron knives and if I'm on the edge of a range level then one less. But for that 1 less I can buy 3x as many bronze arrows as iron knives.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now with steel arrows and Iron Knives costing aproximately the same which do you think is better, I use this term loosely as by better I mean more EFFICIENT for training range. Even though Iron Knives hit lower than steel arrows, will the speed of throwing make more damage than using the comparably slower but stronger steel arrows?

Well for price and damage id go steel or iron arrows. These do more damage and because u can pick them up it doesnt cost much. Also these break alot less than bronze.

well if u have a high smithin lvl u could alway smith ur own iron or steel

 

 

 

knife as well as arrows might take longer than buy but u get exp and save cash

actually in ardougne adventuring store bronze arrows are sold for 1gpeach

Yeah but they don't stock that many that I could live through trying to buy 100k of them.

But what arrow type you choose really depends on where you're trying to go and how much cash you have available. Another alternative to pure arrow training would be just to go to a pc world and zeal it with bronze arrows which is both cheap and fast xp.

So the arrows/knives need to be versatile for the majority of monsters.

 

 

 

I just want to use it on monsters though, not pest control cause I want to get the cash. Money is not really a problem as I got 3 mil to spend on it.

If you ever get orges, there is the Training Grounds. People don't pick up their arrows. Got around 1k iron and 1k bronze and currently working on range.

I dont know where you are getting bronze for 7gp, they go for around 15ea.

I always go with knives over arrows for the same reason that the rune scimmy is more popular than the rune long: it's quantity of hits over quality of hits. Either smith a million of your own iron/steel knives, or...

...buy black knives for 40-50gp each. People have tons of them from the warrior guild, and no one ever knows what they're really worth. People sell them for the same (or for less) than iron knives. In my opinion, one of the most underpriced items in the whole game.
