Finished one person now, fixed eyes, whip and added rune defender. Need to work on two other people and then a background. :)

hmm.. nice cartoonish

but why is that whip looking like hotdogs :P

It's not bad but from what I can see the linework is messy. Remember to clean up stray pixels from the pencil tool.

Cleaned up your linework a bit.

Your linework before looked like the curve on top which is bad. The one on the bottom is superior.

it's not really a pixel but more a cartoon. If its a pixel you need more then 2 shades of each colour and use dithering

that is 100% false. A Pixel is made using the pixel by pixel techinique and basic tools (ie line, fillbucket). Dithering is not requiered but CAN work well... but most of the time it doesnt. and generaly, pixels are made in under 64 colors. a cartoon is usually gradent shaded and not done in Pixel by pixel.

Oh god you've got mega on the definition of a pixel again.....

Not going to say anything about this but you still haven't cleaned up the linework like I showed you how to. I seriously think it would improve your piece to clean it up but that's just MHO.

Pixel art is a form of digital art, created on the computer through the use of raster graphics software, where images are edited on the pixel level. Graphics in most old (or relatively limited) computer and video games, Game Boy games, graphing calculator games, and many mobile phone games are mostly pixel art.

Thanks to wikipedia :P

anyway its nice but u still need to convert the hot dogs into a whip :P

the problem here is that on a 450x175 canvas (max size) your guy is far too big. i like it tho. Have a look at my pixel w.i.p (my sig) and see how the lines are never like the one on the left except when its a corner like on a square

but always like the one on the right

Err, just a tip, but if you want to see some amazing pixelage ( ) try to find one of Mr Xman's posts. In his sig there is an amazing pixel piece, and also a link to his gallery. Which is just plain overwhelmingly stunning.

But ya, homer's sig is (being about StarCraft, and the shading) is great.

Bleh, once I get off my lazy bum and go to Imageshack, there will be a picture here.

Yeah, mine is good but nowhere near great. Besides, it's a smallified (yes, that's a word now) version of a full piece; I cut off the bad looking parts of it.

Agreed. A pixel image is a method of drawing. A cartoon is a style of art. You could have cartoon pixels, realistic pixels, etc..

More on topic.. It's pretty good for a first image. Try working on more detailed shading with more shadows and highlights and as Abhinav said, fix the whip
