Ankous any good for ranged?

Featured Replies

My question is: are they quicker exp than lessers in karamja volcano?

If they're good, from what level should I range these beasties? My ranged is 70 currently, and I'm f2p.

Lessers are better for you.

And you probably get whacked to death by an Ankou anyway...

A long as there are tests, there will be prayer in public schools.

Ankou don't have many good drops. Lessers don't either but you have the slim chance to get a rune med. I don't know if you have a safe spot for ankous. So go range the lessers.

Ankous are awesome for ranging!! But you have survive around 10 min of them auto attacking you. So I melee them till they stop autoing, and then safe spot them behind teh skellys on the ground in the room with only lvl 75 ankous.

Plus, if you're going for the drops, their drops all stack (except skull piece and black robes) so you can stay in there for a very long time without having to leave as long as you have the arrows.

There is an Ankou safespot. So I ask again. Whats better for ranging?

On the drops:

Lessers: Rare chance of a rune med, best I've seen from them is a mith chain. Several other armour/weapon items from steel up, plus runes (fire, chaos, death).

Ankou: Not so rare sceptre piece (Left skull) drop, a strong F2P source of law runes, plus some other stuff like mithril ore (noted), essence (noted), addy arrows and highly variable coins.

I have a horrible feeling tha Jagex will nerf the better of the two safe spots (Ankou), though maybe it's just 1000's of fire strikes practice that makes me say it's easy to control. The one in the ankou only room is very hard to gain control of, my lower level sceptre bashers died many times trying, before I knew of the other one.

lessers are better because you have a safe spot so you dont get hurt, i suggest lessers.

I would go with anakou's for a few reasons the safespots are fairly easy to get down after there done auto attacking. Almost never crowded, and the mith ores alone can make you more money than rune meds plus its nice for smithing.

Just an average player with a horrible name...

Can somebody here go to the safespot, take a picture of it, highlight it, and post it here?

Yah, if the safespots aren't always safe, they aren't really a safespot. more of a block after they've become friendly. (about 13 minutes, give or take)

I personally feel that lessers are far far better for drops, and based on the dificulty of getting safe, probably xp as well. Ankous are just too hard to block, and I have yet to see an actual safe spot that isn't just a block.

People just need to learn to share crabs.
I'd prefer my nether regions clear of diseases, thank you very much.
just turn off accept aids

I would go with lessers as well, better drops and a better safe-spot.
