well i would like to get my smithing up but i want to not lose any money or gain a little money and i want to know what a good method for doing this is(i dont collect any resources usually)

well i like to make iron plates... even at mine or uhh our level because no coal needed and rings of forgings are cheap

hmm i might do that, should i make mith tips and sell?

Buying coal @ 200 ea and Iron @ 100 ea it's easy to make money on steel bars.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can also buy steel bars and make cannonballs. Buying the bars @ 600 ea and sell for ~175 ea.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can also smelt iron with forges or buy bars and make iron knives and sell.

Another idea is iron knives. If you try the mini-game Blast Furnace all you need is start-up money, and you can stay til it runs out making iron knives there.

Assuming you don't mine your own ores, there are very few choices. Buying iron bars 200ea and making knives is one. Buying ingredients and smelting steel/mith bars is another. Buying steel bars for cballs is a third option.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Those are about the only ways to smith and make money; all of them are slow, with iron knives probably the fastest of the 3.

just mine 1k iron and 2k coal, smith 1k steel bars

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

sell those bars for about 550 each, possibly 600 each if your lucky

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

after that, you have about 550k, buy the ore this time

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1k iron for 100k, 2k coal for 400k, combine total of 500k

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

repeat the steps, you only gain 50k each time but its good exp for not mining your own stuff

well, there are a few ways you can do this.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

1) buy iron bars 200ea, smith them into knives which sell for 400ea, you dont loose any money

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2) cannon balls can be split up into 2 catergories, ores (a) or bars (B)

 

 

 

2a) withdraw 9 iron ores, cannon ball mould and 18 coals, go to furnace, smelt 9 steel bars, then smelt those into 36 cannon balls, go to bank deposit cannon balls, withdraw 9 iron and 18 coal and repeat. you make

 

 

 

60% on the money you put in and you get 17.5xp (smelting the bar) and 26.5xp (smithing the cannon balls) so 9 * (17.5 + 26.5) = 396xp per run

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2b) Buy steel bars (600ea) grab your cannon ball mould and 27 steel bars and head off to the furnace, smith 108 cannon balls bank and repeat. this way is much quicker xp (26.5 * 27 = 715.5xp) but the cash is only 25% on the money you put in

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3) mine 5k mith ores and buy 10k coals and head off to the blast furnace with 1k nats and a fire staff. (do this plan once 68+ smithing) now go to blast furnace (with some smithing buddy's) and get that running, with all the mith bars you make, make them into mith plates and high alch for 3.6k, so 1k mith plates makes you 3.6mill which more then covers the coal.

Just buy steel bars and smith into cannon balls. You can get a lot of money this way. Also most people who sell smithing related items sell steel.
