eep... i got flamed because i told somebody not to save an abstract in jpg, but i have to advise you against it too, because the sprite, is pixeled, and when you save it as jpg, it gets blurred.

Welcome to tip it first of all and if you want to get some tips on making pixels than you could talk to Misterxman but he is really busy most of the time. By the looks of that pixel though, i dont think you need any help at all.

i would suggest terley for pixel help, he seems to have no life :mrgreen: (just kidding)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

anyways if your useing anything that looks bad saved as jpeg (pixels mostly, this case a sprite) i would suggest png, unless png saves it as to big of a file. also it looks to occupied on the left, kinda draws your eyes there...not saying it's bad just telling what it's over all effect is...IMO (In My Opinion, fyi (For Your Information :mrgreen: )), i don't like it, i like seeing it equal...i like the light effects you made great use of it...and just so we know....what program?

the png of the file was 116kb, or so. thats why i saved it as a jpg. but i need to drasticaly lower the quality of it so that it fits in the 30kb rule, so i might as well not do it, because it would look like poo =/

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

i was actually trying to make it so that the main effects were in one place, as apposed to having them spread out all over the place. i feel it looks better like that. but i guess its all a matter of taste, no?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and i use Photoshop CS2 now, but i think i made that one in 7.0.

I doubt he pixelled that, it's a sprite from an old game. (Street Fighter or something?)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I can see what you were doing here... but it hasn't worked very well. There isn't enough contrast - at the moment the overall signature is very flat.

 

 

 

Usually sprite signatures are done with everything but the sprite desaturated at a hige percentage (like 80% desat) to bring the focus on it.

 

 

 

From the look of it, you used C4Ds right? They haven't been used very well though... It also just seems to drift off, there's no focus point.

 

 

 

The sense of motion is also pretty dead. A quick and easy way to get some more is to apply image and motion blur then lighten.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Here's a quick idea for what it could/should look like in my opinion;

(It'd probably look good with more colour, but the random streaks of green, red and purple look odd.)
