Cost-effective mage training until 55?

Featured Replies

For my pure, I'm trying to decide what to do from 45-55 mage while wasting as little money as I can. What are some of your ideas?

Try training by using curse spells. Wear a full metal armour (helm, platebody, platelegs, kite) and dragonhide vamps so you have the most negative magic bonus, so you fail all the spells. You'll get experience and can cast the spell again on the same monster.

The only downside to doing this, is no HP experience and it's slower than other methods.

Yes, failing curses is the cheapest way to level magic. Wear metal armor, kiteshield, vambraces, full helm, and no ammy/str/def ammy. It's just slower, and gets boring. Plus, body runes are hard to find unless you make them. No hitpoints experience either :(
