That's how my text currently looks like on my Internet Explorer 7 and my At&T Yahoo! DSL browsers. The text changed yesterday when I downloaded the new IE ... it must have changed because I selecter for it to do so when it asked me what I would like change and add to the new IE.

Now I want to change it to a regular font, but I can't find where I have to go to change it.

I personally prefer the ClearType fonts, they look sharper, might have to do with my monitor though. :?

Anyway, to turn it off:

Control Panel > Display (or right click the desktop and go to properties) > Apperence tab > effects button > Drop down under "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts", change it to "Standard" instead of "ClearType"

Hit ok/apply and ok in the display options. All done.

But it's already set to standard....

Is the check box above it marked? (Sounds like a stupid question, just making sure :P )

Might try setting it to ClearType and back to Standard to make sure it's changing the setting. If the check box is checked and changing to ClearType and back doesn't fix it, I'm stumped. :?

The check box is marked.

I've already tried setting it to ClearType then to Standard, it does change the text on my desktop and stuff, but does nothing to my browser.

To conclude, you're stumped, Cruiser

Google to the rescue! Really annoys me when Microsoft puts the same thing in 2 places.

In IE7's tools menu > Internet Options > Advanced tab, there's a checkbox in the multimedia section that says "Always Use ClearType for HTML". Uncheck it. With the display set to "Standard" IE still used ClearType on my laptop with that checked. Unchecking it and restarting IE turned it back off.

I don't use IE day to day so I didn't know that option was there. :x

I truly am stumped if that one doesn't fix it. :ohnoes:

You jumped over the stump and on to victory (hehe, metaphor-ish)

That would have taken me so long to find out, Thank You.

 I thought Cruiser was saying that at first :P

Its really crappy that MS forced it on as default. If you have Cleartype OFF in the main Windows settings then nothing should override that unless you specify.
