Ok, so I'm having trouble training smithing on my skill pure. What would be the best way to train smithing? Should I just train to level 15 smithing, then start powermining iron and making iron bars?

The attempt to make iron bars is pointless in f2p given the fact there's a 50:50 chance of success/failure. Smith to Level 30 to make steels bars and sell.

Well, first off.. Do the Knight's Sword quest. That right there gets you enough for at least 25 smithing methinks.

Get some friends to come along and make them kill the monsters surrounding the ore.

Knight sword is the fastest exp possibly. If you can't get friends to cover you, just go on a crowed world, and there might be people there traing who will cover for you. Other than that, mining and smithing will take some time.

There are other places to mine iron... Lumbridge swamp is pretty good and the bank is on the roof of lumbridge castle.

knight's sword requires bluerite.

knights sword will give you 29 smithing from level 1, you can easily do it at level three with and invi of lobbies I did.
