Private servers

Are private servers for runescape allowed?

Nope.

Ok. But if I train my def to like 56 will it be saved to the real runescape?

I think they're seperate from runescape. Basically a world where you can do anything, but don't use them. They are illegal and they could also be keyloggers :ohnoes:

I don't see why it should be illegal if it is seperated.

Because as Aznmidget posted, most are used to pass keyloggers on to other players.

If Jagex ever made a perfect update, there would be players complaining about nothing to complain about.

It's illegal because JaGEx has all rights to their source code, but the code has been deobfuscated and reconfigured to work seperately from the main server. This is in essence stealing, and illegal.

And if you do anything in a private server, it will not save on the real JaGEx run servers.

I was asking about it before I used it [bleep]ing [bleep].

You dont have access to the server, the servers are homemade. Thus often enough there could be errors in the code, dangerous security risks in the code. The only thing you'd steal is membership. That is why jagex is saying RS private servers are illegal. Still, using RS private servers you run the risk of getting keyloggers or playing on a easily exploited server as the person is probably running a homebrew server.

glasscube, you're not saying my info was wrong, are you? Because you kinda said what I just said.. just dumbed down a bit more. And how are you stealing membership? A private server in no way has contact with the JaGEx servers. The servers are not homemade either. They're often times just edited a bit to let you run it independently, away from normal servers and other players.

The main point is.. stay away from them, mmkay?
