amoeba_009
Hey all, I started weight lifting last year and i dident go very far so to say got very discouraged and quit. I came back this year and really pushed myself and have noticed HUGE changes, im 15 and have been doing 5 sets of 10 with 25's for bicep curls. At first it worked out fine but now i notice buliding mass is a lot harder and i understand that maybe its because of the weight im lifting and that it needs to be increased. So i moved up to the 30's struggel'd for a while but things got better and i caught on BUT my muscle mass has stoped growing and showing the way it used to. Any ideas? Those are the "Hi, I'm 300 pounds!" type. The popularity of any given religion today depends on the victories of the wars they fought in the past. - Me! Mr_Putter
It's inevitable to plateau. You'll still notice gains, but after the first little while, the gains will slow down.

Ne0z
You cant expect to see major results when ur doin 1 type of exercise? Ive weight trained for a very long time. Seeing results is not something you should get used to. weight training increases your strength. it does not make you look better. If you want to look better its all about having low body fat percentage. so start eating right and going for runs etc. Try making a weekly training program to dont work the same muscles more than 1 day in a row do different exercises etc. Here is a website that will help you understand more. http://www.intense-workout.com/
xxsheepxx
If you're looking to bulk up, and not gain strength, then don't drink any water during/after your workout.. (I haven't gone to the gym in.. four months? I've gotten reaaaally fat.)
BlueLancer
First of all, if you want to build muscle, you're doing exactly the wrong thing, with high reps you are increasing your muscle endurance and strength, *not* mass. If you want muscle mass, you should do very low reps with very heavy weights. Example: Your max is a 30-35lbs dumbbell curl. [*:1pj10hot]6 reps with a 25lbs, rest. [*:1pj10hot]Raise to 30lbs, 4 reps, rest. [*:1pj10hot]Raise to maximum, 4 reps, rest. If you're doing 40 reps with a 15lbs weight you will never gain mass. And naturally, further on, you will want to increase your max in order to get more mass and advance. my muscle mass has stoped growing and showing the way it used to. Any ideas? Simple: You don't eat 2 or 3 grams of protein per 1 lbs of your weight every training day. You're eating too much junk especially if your muscle visibility has decreased. flamestrike
yeah your going for tone. for strength do 5 x 90 %, then 5 x 85 %, only doin 2 sets is enough to build strenght fast, i brought my bench up from 155 to 210 in 3 weeks doing this. Another thing, dont be an arms guy. You need core if you really want to be strong and athletic. Doin only bicep curls may make you look like a stud, but you arent one.
