Motherboard password...

Featured Replies

Okay, dead weird. My motherboard is a Asus A7SC and whilst using it and editing BIOS, it seemed to set itself a password randomly and now I can't access BIOS at all.

Does anyone know if it's set a default password, or is there any way to reset/change the password?

You could try resetting the CMOS, that may remove the password. To do that, look in the manual to find out which jumper it is, then switch it over.

Normally the CMOS jumper will be a jumper connecting 2 of 3 pins - a middle one to an outside one. To reset it you move the jumper to connect the middle one and the other outside one. Leave it there for a few seconds then switch it back.

Or you could try taking the battery out.

You probably created one by accident. If thats the case then do what Parabola said.
