I attacked an ankou and it dropped a level 3 clue scroll.

 

 

 

What I got from it:

 

 

 

1 rune axe

its weird

 

 

 

it kinda seems like it take extra long to get clues from ankous

The higher level the monster, the higher chance of a clue drop. And since ankou are one of the lowest lvl 3 clue droppers, it probaably won't be very often.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On the contrary if you kill Dagg Kings and get a clue, that isn't "very rare"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

From my personal experience, I've had 2 clues from ankous, from like 10 trips

Keep on trying it usually takes awhile to get them but, you will eventually get one

keep on tryin, its random, so u can get it anytime. i got a clue once from killin a monster for part of a quest

you can camp there if you have BtP

You have to understand, getting a clue from them, just like everything else, is a completely RANDOM chance. Just savor the blood, death, p ess, and mith ore drops :)

What blue dragon said, it is completely random, and as a level 3 drop it would be extremely rare. Try hellhounds or blue dragons or jellies, they drop level 3 clues more often then ankous.
