Marco
JavaScript.. or whatever Runescape uses when you load up the game hasn't worked on Firefox for me for a loooong time and I've just been using Internet Explorer for Runescape and Firefox for everything else, but it's really getting annoying.. Can anyone tell me why all that's displayed is this..; ..and what I have to do to get it to display Runescape. And yes, I have Java2platform thingy installed on my computer. mikercool
There is three things you can do. Get the newest verson of "FireFox", get the newest verson of "Java", and/or try turning off "JavaScript". (Don't turn off "Java", just "Java Script") P.S. Useing any ToolBars or Add-Ons? Marco
My browser now is Firefox 2 (newest one), and the only add on that I'm using is the 'Google tool bar for Firefox'..
Mercifull
Have you followed EXACTLY what it says on the Runescape FAQ/KB about this? It has a detailed guide on getting RS to work in firefox. Mercifull <3 Suzi "We don't want players to be able to buy their way to success in RuneScape. If we let players start doing this, it devalues RuneScape for others. We feel your status in real-life shouldn't affect your ability to be successful in RuneScape" Jagex 01/04/01 - 02/03/
Marco
Could I have a link to that please? The closest thing I can find to 'using other browsers' is this: 'What browsers can I use instead of Internet Explorer? You can download our RuneScape 'Windows Client', which will get rid of all the clutter that comes with using Internet Explorer. This can be found in the Website Features section of the main site under the extra files section or by clicking, here.' And the 'cannot load' help guide mentions Firefox once, in a link.. mikercool
Ok, listen closely; I will only say this once. RuneScape does not use "JavaScript", it uses "RuneScript" run in "Java". If you turn off "JavaScript" the game might run. Also, you have the newest version of "Java"?
Marco
Turning Javascript off doesn't help. I'm pretty sure I do have the latest version of Java enabled, like I said, it works fine with Internet Explorer, just not with Firefox -.-
Cruiser
Jagex only uses javascript on the game pages to redirect direct links to the game worlds. If you're loading it from the world select page, you won't see a different between javascript on or off. If RS is working in Internet Explorer then Firefox most likely just doesn't know java is installed. Reading threw this MozillaZine KB article would be a good place to start troubleshooting. Seige_17
Sometimes the only reason why java scripts does not work on Mozilla Firefox is because the user installs java blocking extensions, therefore if you have anything like that installed... disable it! However, if you didn't install anything but having the same issue, you can use SwiftSwitch, which is really handy! Cheers Seige
