Terraspace - WIP

Featured Replies

So this time I'm trying things a little bit differently. It's another Terraspace but it's definitely not finished. I'm just posting for tonight and I'll use whatever tips I recieve tomorrow when I start again. I plan on adding a large planet thats kind of setting half way behind the mountains in the horizon with a ring around the planet that is at a 90 degree angle to the ground. I'll probably also add another, smaller planet towards the top of the piece. I'm not sure what else I'll put in.

sky is way to long, the sky isn't dark enough, to much white sky just above the mountains, the sun doesn't light up a area in the sky that big, u can ealely see there is a sort of gradient from the blue sky to the white sky, most of the times u don't see stars on a bright day with such a bright sun :-s and i know u propobly are going to adjust this but the water in the background looks like it is going to fall off the edge of the earth -.-

that was some of my c/c but before i give more i wanna see if u just don't are going to chance it yourself :P

The landscape has a ton of problems, I'm going to point out some of them:

- Mountains almost never hit the water like that in real life, they slope off onto a beach.

- You can litteraly see the edge of your "world". Incredibly unrealistic.

- The texture needs a lot of work. It looks like you wanted something snowy but the snow is incredibly random and the water, IMO, looks too warm to host snow. I don't like the brownish rock texture you want to use as well on the mountains.

- The atmosphere is pretty plain, really bright and nearly the entire "sky" for the space scene is a gradient.

-Transition is fine, but doesn't leave much up to imagination at all. IMO its a really boring transition from landscape to space scene.

Just a couple of things I wanted to point out. This needs a lot of work.

The mountains are too generic, try diversify them to make it interesting.

By Terra standards it's pretty boring.

Thanks for all the c/c. I'd love to make the transition interesting with some nice, doom-impending clouds but I'm still horrible at transitions. I think I may start practicing with terragen and space scenes seperately and when I get better at them both, I'll work on putting them together. I may or may not try to finish this one, I'm not sure yet.
