mario_sunny
I am having so much trouble with the recent quest, Conact! I go down into the tunnels, expecting this to be as easy as any old quest in runescape. But what do I find? These monsters hitting 20s on me, constant 20s! I'm wearing full rune and mage prayer and I'm thinking this must be some bug. I clicked my ecto and I was safely teleported back though. But I'm a level 88, 67 defense. And I was getting owned down there. I completed Recipe at combat 74, and that was a sinch. Desert treasure at combat 67, and dragon slayer(lol) at combat 50. Well I finally got past the tunnels with 2 out of about 20 monkfish left and talked to the girl. I went to talk to osman and travelled back down the tunnels. The same thing happened, I despartely survived with 4 out of about 20 monkfish left. Then I fight this boss right? Not a big deal. Except for the fact that he and his little friends hit 20s! I had full rune and prayer, I have a measly amount of monkfish to fight him, how am I suppose to beat this quest? I really want to beat this quest because having a very close bank to pyramid plunder would be super fast thieving exp. Do I need better food? Perhaps a buddy to use butterflies that raise my hitpoints, def, att, and str? Am I missing something? Am I just stupid? TeeBeaun
i did it using sharks with my stats bellow. I had no problems getting through, make sure you run. With protect from mage on, unless someone is directly next to you, you shouldnt have a problem. The final boss i only used like 3 or 4 sharks if that. mario_sunny
Maybe I've just having bad luck. I'll try again I suppose. :( EDIT: What the hell! I brought 17 sharks down there with a complete super set and the d b axe special with my whip and he gets down to half hp and I have to tele because I ran out of food. I give up... what am I doing wrong? By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. primadog
I'm lvl 103 combat. It took me 5 tries (1 death) to beat the boss, so you're not alone. For some reason, this quest's difficulty varies for person to person. Some people gets a few lucky hits on boss and finish him in a few seconds, others like me die and die again. If you go to the lowest level, it's normal for you to lose quite a few fishes along the way. I recommend you go the long way to save your food, bring your best melee armor, best weapon, ring of life, one or two p pots, super set, antipoison, tele, light source and tinderbox, and the rest food. Conserve your food as much as you can, pray mage when you fight the boss. Play it safe. You'll make it, I'm sure of it. If you need help, give me a pm. All I learned in life, I learned on Tip.it
transcript80
I beat it quite easily. In the maze, pray protecy from magic, but only when you see a yellow dot on your way. Just walk your way through, and run past the scarab mages while praying. Be carefull for the traps (floor, walls, scarabs!) and you should use little/no food at all. Of course, use Tip.it's map to avoid getting lost. NEVER forget bullseye lantern AND a tinderbox! For the end fight, I showed up in full rune, prayed protect from melee and used 1 prayer pot (4) and 1 dose of super attack and super strength potion. I used tuna potatoes, but I guess sharks will do as well. Ring of life and ecto/one-click tele recommended as panic button. By the way, if I remember correctly, you can only use butterflies on OTHER players, not on yourself. Other data was removed when acoount got hacked... Sjakie_1_1_3
In the maze, if you follow the right way then you'll only come past 3 mages. So you can easily pray mage there. If you do it the right way the maze will take only 5-10 prayer points and no food at all. For the boss, make sure to stay a few steps away of him, then he won't use melee. So use mage or range prayer and MAGE!!! the boss. He has a huge melee and range def, but no mage defence at all. I finished it with about your stats and could in no way kill the boss with melee (I did 6 damage before I had to tele). Yet with mage he was dead in just 11 attacks (Iban blast, hit 20+ at least 5 times). So, use mage, and the boss will be easy. orangewraith
when I fought the boss, I moved so the spawned things stacked up behind each other - that seemed to help a bit. Also, be really really careful in the maze so you don't fall much or at all.
Lord_K
So, use mage, and the boss will be easy. All though I meleed it, I'd completely agree with you. Magic kills it, still it can be done at 88, I used melee protect, 1 3 does p pot and superhuman strength and improved reflexes, as well as 12 or so tuna potatoes. So it can be killed with melee at 88, but sticking to magic is alot cheaper and easier.
