Does anyone know any fast ways to get steel on f2p? It seems that coal has risen in price over the last few years. A long time ago, it was 100-150 each, now it's like 150-200. It's so hard to find people who sell for 100 each these days.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Buying them for 150 each seems the fastest, but results in negative profit, aside from exp. (Excluding iron ore, each steel bar costs 300 gp but only only returns 240 gp with steel plates unless it is used to smith rune).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyone know any good ways to level smithing quickly, yet save money at the same time?

My advice would be this,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Start off by buying as many coal ore sets as you can (2coal,1iron). coal i would by at about 170 each and iron 75. This will take alot of lower populated world hopping at first! :oops:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When you find sellers tell them to add you and to sell you every ore that they mine in the future and that you will give them a bouns every time thay come back. (this could be like a 1k bonus or a 5gp per ore increase) This should start to give you a steady flow of ores.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At this point you want to start to post a smelting company on the forums, such as sneaki's steels smithing :-s, you post this basically,

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Starting small smelting company, hiring smelters, I provide ores +25(or 50 depending on how much profit you make)gp and you give me steel bars.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

You can begin to sell the bars from here, or get a trusted friend to begin the p2p side of the buisness :-$ He(or she) can begin to smelt the bars into c balls or pay others to do it for free xp. then sell the cannon balls for huge profit.\

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The trick is that the smithers you hire must give you steel bars for the materials, never trust others and give them ores strait off.
