I am not sure If theres any gates, monsters, evil bobs, camel-duck-fishes and such along the way, but bring food just incase.

Have you done the troll quests? You must have started Troll Stronghold quest to get access to the area.

If you havent done the quests, you can either drop your clue and try to get another one or do the quests.

Please think before you ask a question. If you ask the right question, its much more likely you get the answer you are looking for :)

you will never get a clue that you can't do

and the easier way is to walk from the fremnik side eastwards. remember to bring your compass, chart, sextant and spade

indeed. I got a clue for crandor isle before i did dragon slayer, and a clue for khazari jungle before i did legends quest. Wrt the question, you need to have done (or at least started) troll stronghold to get there. The best way is to use the teleport as that gets you pretty close.
