Half moon shape for a mouth? I would try along the lines of making a circular shape, and then use the rectangle selection tool to select and delete the top half to give the shape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The smilie's edges aren't smooth, and its a plain circle. Try getting it to look more 3d, it would look better than.

The font looks too awkward, since it's streched out height wise.
