As I was going through to edit out my current clan line in my Forum.Tip.It Profile, seeing as I resigned :ohnoes: from Clan Armageddon due to problems over there, I got the following error :ohnoes: message here: Unable to reseed PRNG DEBUG MODE SQL Error : 2006 MySQL server has gone away UPDATE phpbb_config SET config_value = '24a9dbe457d46b35d538af53fe65506f' WHERE config_name = 'rand_seed' Line : 150 File : functions.php Any idea what is going on here? I went to edit my profile this morning, and had failures with my intended combination of profile layout. So I tried both wiping the "clan" line AND changing my only image in my sig into just a url... Guess what? IT WORKED! And I just figured out why too: "www.runeweb.net" apparently has ceased to exist sometime in the last 5 days. So my image link is utterly dead, broken, etc. ... and something in the Tip.It server won't accept the "img" parameter for it because the Tip.It server can't track the image down. :( ... I guess that is the problem of having a "Signature Image Check Mod" running. Well, lesson learned for me. :) ... Feel free to lock this, but PLEASE leave people a warning that if the server can't find the image they want to use, but which has to be checked first, then it won't accept it! (BTW, just getting "Unable to reseed PRNG" literally means nothing to most users, including me ... odd, eh?) ~Mr. D. V. Looce Posted February 4, 2007 Share Posted February 4, 2007 A "prng" (Pseudo Random Number Generator) is used to generate the image name for your avatar (2ac6c92blahblahblah.gif) and stuff like that. Perhaps it's also used to generate a sort of transaction ID for the image check mod, I don't know. Also, the error code says "MySQL server has gone away". I don't see how. I could access all of Tip.It forums at that point in time. Well, on the bright side, this thread can now be closed. I've found, basically on my own, temporary solutions and such, and that leaves no point left for this thread. Also, RuneWeb.net has come back from the grave somehow. :? ~Mr. D. V.
