Doughnut
If George Bush senior had chased down the last of Saddam Huessin and had ended the problems there once and for all what do you think would be happening now days? rocketman089
We'd be asking ourselves "what if we hadn't finished the deed". And FYI, Operation Desert Storm was carried out. Gamertag: King Arizona

rocketman089
Desert Storm took place in Kuwait, and the country in question is Iraq. Afghanistan and Bin Laden have nothing to do with this thread =\ Gamertag: King Arizona
Doughnut
It was carried out? I remember reading somewhere that they had the enemy on the run and instead of giving the orders to chase them down they were orderd to retreat. .... :-s "A time comes when silence is betrayal" MLKJ Speak your mind, but be civil.Get mad, but do not rage.Do unto others as you would want done to yourself. Afghanistan and Bin Laden have nothing to do with this thread =\ i was talking about after 9/11 and the fact that now, instead of being caught up in 2 wars, we would only be in 1, afganistan. The didn't retreat from Iraq or anything because they weren't in there. Desert Storm happened to liberate Kuwait, not topple Saddam. Ginger_Warrior
With heinsight, I think a more beckoning question would be "why did we put Saddam Hussein in power in the first place?" Go check it, it's true, we put him there. | Favourite Game Music | Last.fm | HYT Friend Chat Rules |

KCHughes
According to Al Qaeda informants, the reason Al Qaeda started targeting the U.S. for terror attacks was because they parked their military in a Muslim nation and attacked another Muslim nation. They see that as a defilement of their religion by a non-Muslim nation. Keep in mind, the U.S. also had female soldiers in Saudi Arabia, which is a big no-no there. So I'm guessing if the U.S. had just kept going straight to Baghdad, America would have had hundreds of more, bolder terrorist attacks PLUS an insurgency in Iraq. But then, Al Qaeda may have just been looking for any excuse at all to do something to America and would have settled for an excuse like "a friend of a friend of a friend of a friend met an American tourist once and he wasn't nice, so let's fly some planes into their skyscrapers." It's hard to tell. the russians are the best! Hands down!
trapical
Nothing would have changed. We would still be trying to stabilize the country. Well except the fact that instead of being stuck in Iraq for 4 years now, it would be 16 years. It was smart that we left. If we didn't we would be were we are now, an Iraq in chaos and the US attempting to bring order.
