Something differentish.

well i've been drawing lately, well pixeling and what i've done seems like it's been done before, or at least the style seems so old.

I decided to try something completely new for me, sort of an abstract pixely thingy.

I've worked on these for a while, and i may make more, but i'm not sure.

This is the first time i've done anything of this style, so there probably not that good, but anyhow here they are.

*also about the inconsistency, and sometimes lack of shading, that was deliberate*

I'm not sure what feedback i'm going to get here, but remember, it's my first one of this, uhm, genre of pixel. :ohnoes:

Its definatly different. I like it, the shading looks wierd, but its really cool. Like a camo-ish style...

8/10 for the new style. Keep it up:)

thank you :)

Just keep it up, with that shading, you could make some good "camo" stuff... Try a person maybe?

Looks pretty cool... Youd be a cool pixeler, but you just gotta learn how to dither your shading.

Dithering is like this:

010101010

001010101

010101010

001010101

010101010

It smooths the shading.

if u want to get better just look for a few tutorials on the internet and study how other people make their sigs  u should realy learn alot from looking at other sigs, zoom and look how they shade and how they use colors ::'

On-topic: The first one looks realy easy made just some lines with everytime a different color matching the background. Not much to c/c since i dont know what its ment to be :?

The second is realy easy shaded, try some new techniques also a little pile shading can work good if u dither a little on the edges  Also it looks like u have chosen random colors shaded it a little and finish'd

i hope u have something about that, and u can also use the first part of this post. There are also some good tutorials at the FAQ here in the gallery ::' :P

It may look like a I used random colors at times, but i definitely didn't and i spent a long time getting the colors exactly how i wanted them. Also a thing with the sky is, i actually shaded that at first with my normal technique but i realized in this picture the sky isn't supposed to be just one color shaded practically.

As for dithering, i decided not to, as it's sort of a way of blending colors everyone uses, and i didn't even want them to completely blend with this style. But now that i look at again i think i will dither a bit in some of the more large color changes in the mountain, and a tiny bit in the sky.

EDIT: also with the sky on the second one that's just a rough draft and will be changed.

ahem.. erm, dithering isn't a necessity, it's a technique to make the transition between two shades/colours smoother. So if it's technically not needed all your doing is adding an unwanted texture..

As a pixel artist your supposed to judge what your doing as you go, not simply assume that everything has to be dithered because seriously, a lot of the time it makes it look much worse.

You've got off to a great start, just keep things simple and work on developing your knowledge on correct colouring, shading and proportions. Take it one step at a time if your still new, don't be expected to produce a masterpiece.
