Poopingman
First off I want to say that my computer meets and exceeds all of the requirements to run the game, and I have cable internet. Moving on, I suffer from a bizarre form of lag. Unlike typical "freezing" where everything in the game stops, my character simply stops responding to any of my clicks for upwards of 20 seconds. Everything else around me still goes on as normal (not associated with normal lag, where everyone stops) then my computer tries to catch up by unleashing all of the clicks at once, usually with undesired results. I also suffer from huge framerate drops, sometimes down to LITERALLY like 1-2fps. I believe this is the fault of my graphics card. However the first problem has me stumped... nomar04
your second problem has to do with you first problem if it happens in runescape. runescape doesn't use a graphics card, so thats not the problem. for the first problem, have you updated your java? if you have a router, how many computers are connected to it, and is it wireless? if its wireless, is it secure, because someone could be leeching on to it. thats all i can think of. I see...well I did update java a couple times, to no avail. However the modem I was given by my ISP uses USB, and this limits it to around 12mbps connection speed. However Runescape ran perfectly fine up until just weeks ago. I do not use wireless. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....
JoeDaStudd
runescape doesn't use a graphics card Thats wrong every applications uses the graphics card, runescape just doesnt require a very powerful one. The problem seems to be connection related. Although it maybe taht there is a program in the background slowing your pc down. OT: check your background processes - this seems like general PC slowness

RuneScape itself does not make graphics calls to the card. The graphics you claim RS is drawing are calls made to Java and then on to the OS. RS does not make any of it's own calls to the card like the major 3d games do. Let me repeat, RS does not use the graphics card on it's own. The logic you people keep using isn't in line with what people normally mean when they say 'using the graphics card'. RuneScape's 'use' of the card is on the same level as the OS and puts virtually 0 load on it. If you guys are so hell bent on saying it uses a graphics card, go look at the detail page. There is no mention of a graphics requirement. Why? Because it's all CPU and RAM dependent. RS doesn't need a graphics card.
