Well.... It is easier with p2p because you have better spells and armour.

But here is what i know. Don't forget I'm f2p so i don't know much p2p spots.

F2P

[*:14ocil02] Lesser Demons in Karamja Volcano. Nice little safe spot.

[*:14ocil02] Lesser Demon in Magic Tower

Those are the BEST spots. But I'm sure there are more less known ones.

Wheres the best place to train magic up?

That depends on what you mean by "best"

Do you mean Fastest, or Cheapest, or least Clicking, or best Drops, or Safest, or ...?

Also, it depends on your money in the bank, Rune Crafting level,

desire to get HP exp or not, etc.

Generally speaking,

-- higher level spells give more exp but can be very expensive.

-- lower level spells give less exp but give more exp per gp spent on them.

For F2P, Failed Curses is a very effective way to raise magic.

You get about 1 magic exp for every 1 gp that you spend.

Or, just make your own runes for no gp cost at all.

Hope this helps

you could try fail cursing too (put on your worst mage armor so its in the negatives, then trap a man or somethin behind an obstacle and use curse, it should fail most of the time, but you will still get the xp)

How does the whole failed curse thing work?

if you have your mage bonus in the negatives (as high as you can), and you cast curse, it should fail most of the time, even when it fails, you will get the xp for it, so you can cast curse a lot on one person and get the xp for every failed curse

How does the whole failed curse thing work?

Curse will always give you the full 29 magic exp with every cast.

But if Curse "hits" then you can't re-curse the same monster for awhile.

So, for non-stop cursing (and "fast" training) you want to "fail" when you cast.

Either way, you always get the same 29 exp.

So, for fast training, you wear gear with the worst magic attack stat.

That's full helm, chest plate, legs, kite shield, and SoS boots to get to -68

If you use a staff (to save on runes) then you should also equip green dragonhide vambraces.

You can use any metal. Bronze works as well as Rune.

Then go find some safe place and cast away.

I like to use multi-combat zones so that I (almost) always have a target.

Good places to try are:

  • cast from the key room in the Varrock sewers across the water at the 4 zombies in the ladder room

caged red monk under the Varrock palace stairs

caged lesser at the top of the wizzy tower

    Port Sarim jail prisoners

scorpions from the rim of the desert mine

    river ducks

There are lots of places that will work

Curse gives more exp than every mind rune based spell

and all of the runes can be made in F2P.

Hope this helps
