1) Go to your start menu.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

2) Click 'Run'

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3) Type 'dxdiag' and hit enter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This is a complete analysis of your computer. You can find anything from who it is registered to and it's basic specs, it's sounds cards and it's network and hardware details here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4) If you wish, you can save all of the info on your computer in a text file by clicking "Save all information" at the bottom right corner of the DXdiag.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

That's all there is to it. This tool is extremely useful tool if you want tech help, need to know certain details about your computer, looking at the real specs of a computer and a whole lot else.

That's a nice lil tool.

I disagree, if you want real information and you have drivers already installed. I suggest using device manager. To say it's more comprehensive is an understatement.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

If no drivers are installed. Download PC Wizard 2007. Freeware utility that detects your hardware and tells you what it is.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In my opinion DxDiag is only really good for checking your directx version. Tis what I run if I get someone with a gaming problem.
