Screechingmu
Well, for about half of the week, i'm at my dads house where we have a satelite connection. When i play rs on this connection, whenever i click on one area, it usually takes 1-3 seconds for me to actually move there. Is there any way to eliminate this "click lag"? ashozzy2
nope the reason tere is the lag is because the time it takes for the data to be sent to the satelite and then sent from the satelite to the satelites phone line connection, only way to eliminate this is get faster internet. Mercifull
Sat is good for downloading large files fast but not for on-line gaming as the latency will never be very good for the reasons ashozzy2 said. thane_of_rs
I have had satellite internet for around one year and this also happens to me. It's very hard to get used to, it limits what you do in-game(because of the risk of dying), and it drives me crazy!
DaN
Satellite is normally used as a Last resort for internet and phones because of the high latency rate. Only thing I can suggest is to use severs as close to you as possible. ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
Cruiser
Even using servers close to your location could be shooting yourself in the foot because you don't know where your packets are coming back down. You could be using a server 50 miles away while your packets are coming back from sat to some place a couple thousand miles away, adding even more latency to everything. :wall:
Screechingmu
Yeah its annoying but due to my location (middle of nowhere) I dont really have any other choice besides crappy dial up. The good thing is that for more then half the week im at my moms where we have a highspeed cable connection, so thats where i do most of the dangerous stuff like pking :) P.S. Thanks everyone for their help :D My Guide to Killing Green Dragon Autoers
