Mr_Putter
I watched most of it, but I had to study :(. However, I did make picks and got exactly 12/24->50%. Not bad 8-) . I will likely watch all the big winners when they come out on DVD. That's always fun.
jemathonical
I watched them for the first couple of awards, then I just got bored with it. And they drag it on and on. ^Sir Jem 05-The Bunny Drinking Blog?^ Click it!
Nanosauromo
Sources? Anyone can point fingers and scream "consperciy!!" at the top of their lungs. LOL, there's no smoke without fire... Untrue. I have seen smoke in the absence of fire on many occasions. My Solar Death Ray for instance. I get objects to smoke all the time, but very rarely get actual flame. You only have to type four extra keys for me to not think "ur" an idiot.solardeathray.teensupergenius.com
1_man_army
Sources? Anyone can point fingers and scream "consperciy!!" at the top of their lungs. LOL, there's no smoke without fire... Again, sources. Don't beat around the bush, just show me where you heard all of this. I cant provide sources (but hey its not my argument) but I do remember watching a program about the campaigning that goes into the Oscars. Studio's and distributers pay millions on their oscar campaigns (things like advertising, billboarding etc.) In the past studio's were allowed to give the Academy members(those who vote on who gets the prizes) gifts in the run up to the ceremony. Infact Sharon Stone bought expensive gifts the academy for the Golden Globes in 1995, I cant remember if she won though.(I know its not the Oscars but the point is similar. foolgool
It's all politics man.*coughdixiechickscough* <-I know that's a different awards show, but still. I really wanted to see Pan's Labyrinth, and it turned out a winner. I guessed about half right, I think. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132. blushenka
Yup, you can bet it's all politics. All you gotta do is follow the trends. Anyway, personal tastes aside about who should have won, etc (I actually had no favourites whatsoever this year), but the show in itself...gosh, it's so boring and uptight and packed with bad jokes and awkward moments. Every time I watch I'm like *cringe* for god sakes, you're actors, can't you do better than this? >_> "Metal isn't about violence or faggy whiny lyrics. It isn't even about who plays the heaviest and fastest. It is about invoking a sense of wonder and magnitude that no other genre can depict." Its true there has always been a lot of great foreign films but now with the internet its far easier to hear about them so its given foreign films more visability than they had say 15 years ago. Nowadays your average teenager might have heard of Volver where as that wouldnt be the case in the past. It's undoubtedly a good thing.
