d3nic
Just got a slayer assignment of 130 Hellhounds... I've forgot the best way to kill them.... I do want to melee them but I'm not sure on how strong they are, for example, do they hey frequently? If so, how high do they hit? I'll be wearing full torags + whip + Rune defender. So would it be a good idea to melee them? Thanks.

andylax38
I usually range just because they are one of the few slayer tasks that are good to range and I don't have to bank if I do, but with your equipment you could finish that task in 2-3 loads of food. ~>~Check Out My Bursting Guide~<~Current goals - 99 Slayer, 99 Summoning, 85 DungeoneeringAchieved goals - Quest Cape, 99 Strength, 85 Slayer, 99 Range, 88 Summoning, 90 Slayer, 99 Magic, 99 Farming
Star_Fox
hallying works well, same with range. if you want fast frequent kills, go melee. careful of spiders though, bring antipotion or a strange fruit.
djp2rr
I always melle them by using bones to peaches spell... Before I had spell, I took oily fishing rod / bait / tinker box and a couple of logs, so I could fish a few lava eels to keep me going. They fish quite fast and heal 14 (if you have finished heros)... with your range lvl, I would just range them... As said before dont forget anti-poison... Hope it helps... PhelimReagh
Not that everything the aul lout says is gospel, but according to Axe Man Jack's Slayer Guide: Hellhounds are decent experience and a great source of Level 3 clues. They have a safe spot as shown, but I prefer to set up a cannon and melee them healing myself with Guthan's or bones to peaches. The other advice given is good too. The views presented are generally the best way to go about it. That being said, I've had that same slayer assignment for about 3 weeks now. Just can't bring myself to do it :(
Midala87
Hell hounds are surprisingly easy. Even if you melee them. I prefer to kill the ones near Ardougne. I steal cakes (the worst food for training) to replenish my hp and bring with me into combat as I usually do not have a stockpile of lobsters, swordfish or sharks. ikzelf100
bones to peaches are enough hp with mine stats i even had bones left to bury in stead to fruit :)
