RuneScape Information

  1. Correct me if I am wrong. When Slayer first came out was there a new concept where you have to bring certain equipment to kill certain creatures? I notice quest bosses are much more unique now and require strategies to fight them. Or were there creatures of this sort existing before Slayer? Like everyone else (well most everyone). Slayer is the most logical choice to level up. It forces you to go around Gielinor and meet new people. You learn more about each creature and the best set up as you gain levels. Also who does not like wearing the slayer helmet. It is my favorite headgear next to the helm of neitiznot. Oh and the cape is awesome. Black capes tend to go well with most outfits. To all fellow slayers out there I salute thee and wish you a many prosperous trips. As for all the haters... *sigh*. By the way. Players are layers... Though I can see how cake would be a good substitute.
  2. Do Smoking Kills quest. Get 68 magic asap for contact spell. Then do quests required for Lunar Magic. Then Slay till you have a Slayer Helmet using Lunar. Try and collect as many charms as you can while you slay. Then Slay till you have enough money for 70 prayer. Then train prayer till 70. Then continue slaying while training strength. Continue to purchase and sell new armor throughout your training. Maximize your melee skills through slayer. Then maximize ranged through slayer. Then maximize magic through slayer. Then start working on summoning by using creatures to help with other skills. Fishing, Woodcutting & Mining would be a good start. Use money earned from basic skills to level up more advanced skills. Use those advanced skills to level up construction and then prayer. Once all skills are level 99 proceed to get maximum xp in a skill of your choice. Congratulations. You have just now wasted your life. :wall: (similar process of what I am doing now)
  3. Yeah, you have 100m yet you need MORE money? Is this what Rune Scape has come to. You sure you didn't mean 100k? Shortly I plan on setting my Misthalin Kingdom harvesting flax while I make Yew Longbows (cannot do Magic atm). I will also use the seers headband almost daily to get even more free flax. Then with all of my FREE nature runes from slayer I shall High Alch all those bows and maybe do magic bows. Or you could just do treasure trails until you get really lucky with a third age set and sell it for tons of instant cash. Or god wars dungeon. Or Law runs. Or pvp. Or do what you did for your first 100m!
  4. Pre GE: Yes, I did not like the hassle of trading with other people. (those were my rune days) GE: No! I buy everything that I need and sell what I do not. (these are my dragon days) While many say the GE ruined things I find it much more convenient and helpful for the entire community. If you want to buy something chances are it is on the GE. This includes many low level items that people normally do not sell pre GE. So I like to say I am sufficing the community. \
  5. If it helps deter bots then I am all for it. Besides, you should see how Blizzard treats it's gamers. NO ONE is able to play on server maintenance day(s). Those days typically are Tuesdays and can last hours. Whereas with Jagex only a select few servers are maintained at a time unless something major is needed. Which to be honest does not last all that long. We that play with Jagex are lucky indeed to have them as our friends. For they understand our need to be on 24/7.
  6. I voted for Jagex simply because I tend to play their games more than any other single company. Does anything else matter besides that? The next competitor is L4D. While I am upset at Valve for releasing L4D2 a bit too early (you better come up with some good excuses where I will apologize) I still voted for L4D to succeed, while Activision and Blizzard gets my other vote for hopefully making Starcraft II and Diablo III great. Valve still gets a vote for steam. You can find some great deals on there than buying at a store. Please vote for Jagex. I want to see all these haters piss their pants when they see Jagex becoming the next best thing. If Rune Scape sucked so much I would not be playing it...
  7. Bauke, of course I am not really serious. I realize the implications of giving employees a paid year off (you lose profit). I am just saying they need to take it easy which they are this year with low end content and bug fixes. I just feel like RuneScape has so much content that there wont be much good ideas left at this rate of pace.
  8. Is this poll a joke? We all know that the hardcore tiffers are on Jagex Server 99 in Edgeville. Of course I am too busy slaying so I do not see most of you :(
  9. I'll have to slightly agree with the OP. Jagex as a company is "supposed" to spoonfeed those that complain. They are always apologizing and fixing things up on a constant basis. If they did not apologize then for some reason they appear to be rude and don't care. Which Spoonfeeding customers is what most good companies are at times forced to do. Otherwise they risk stirring up an uproar. There will always be people upset for no good particular reason. As for making things easier for us? Yes, they do seem to do that quite a bit. I'm starting to think they have much more higher level stuff they want to release when their engine can support it. They probably want most of the players around the same level for this content so everyone can experience it. So in that case; START TRAINING NOW! As for the GE? Best mostly used update that came out in 2008. It is just sad to see jerks in certain clans that ruin the price of everything and gain an advantage. Personally though, Jagex should just stop updating the game for one year and get some well deserved rest. Although what will the employees do then if they are not working? Play some Madden of course! (reference to some interview videos on the web). Or they could still work on content just do not release it yet.
  10. Personally, no matter what they release it will have to wait until I reach 99 Slayer. Not a bad filler update though. I would not be surprised if what they release next week (Mobilizing Armies?) still has some unexpected bugs. Oh and Dragons_Might there will be sailing! There has been a project going on for quite some time now from the FunOrb team called "Pirate Empires". Look at the diaries some time. Looks amazing. T3h 270l3 0u4 1d34!!! (teh stole our idea!!!)
  11. (Just realized something, the videos were added February 10. 2008) Now, if only Jagex had given us some sort of link to these videos (which I am sure they had to known interviews were being taken place) we would not have needed that first development diary. These are so much more interesting and involve a lot more depth. Knowing who we should appraise when something comes out helps a lot instead of just saying "good job Jagex". Thank you for the find Amundogus2. Here have a cabbage
  12. Is it just me or can you see a little bit further past the southern Lumbridge castle wall? I always click just past that wall so I have less clicking when going to Zanaris (fairy city). If this is new then it makes life for me a tiny bit easier. Love ya guys, gals & Jagex Staff. Love ya even more Tip It Staff! ~Commander Midala of Saradomins Gaze~
  13. Actually it's not all that strange. Rune Scape just doesn't have the appeal factor that say Harry Potter has. Harry Potter also has a bunch of advertising and products behind it that are all aimed for the little kids. I am actually glad about this. I rather play a game that isn't very well known so that I feel I am a part of a community that other people just do not understand. Let us just hope no one tries to make a video about Jagex's game. Books are fine, as for movies... just no. btw, In Soviet Russia jokes are old. While they used to be a superpower they are slowly becoming weaker. Good job UN.
  14. Actually... There are quite a good many books based off on games. One that bears to mind is the Republic Commando series which are all excellent reads for Star Wars fans. All too often developers are looking for quick cash so when a movie company offers a deal to make a game based on their movie they will rush to make one. Which often times fails to make a lot of profit in the first place. I have yet to get BaF but I would highly recommend it if you want to be fully engaged in the Rune Scape lore. Of course the book isn't made to enlighten us on the game but to follow an adventurer much like ourselves. Happy reading  oh and keep the chips away from the book. They don't like that very much :shame:
  15. sorry for being a noob. just felt lazy and posted it in here. lock please?
