Is Runescape educational?

Absolutely.

You are educated in the fact that some people will always call other people names.

You are educated in how not to be taken advantage of (i.e. recognize Scammers)

You are educated in bartering - which does come in handy inthe real world

You are educated in laws - you cheat and get caught - Jagex will meet out punishment

You are educated at not taking everything at face value - This is more for those that do the quests - without help.

You are educated that to get high levels - you have to work at it. You can not buy your way to high levels. Even if you buy the supplies - you still have to do the work.

Is this education that you can apply to 'book learning' in school? Maybe not. But it is educational.

Well said. I completely agree with you.

I must say, Runescape has provided a way for me to learn to deal with frustration.

Pyramid Plunder is great XP, but is frustrating beyond belief. Since I've been doing daily runs, I've learned to control the frustration a bit. This really has spilled over to the rest of my life.

That's not "education" in the normal sense, but still something I've learned.

Yes RS has made me ultra patient and have an extremely slow temper. U cant annoy me. ONe thing it hasn't taught me is how to deal withn losing, cos i just don't lose, i dont get much practice. Cant stand losing, nor travelling when i can tele :P

Yeah...Some people just go out of their way to ruin other peoples fun.
Sounds like Jagex to me...
