First up in March comes an exciting update to the way that the in-game music works. Soon, you'll all be able to hear the melodic strains of 'All's Fairy in Love and War', 'Romancing the Crone' and all the other songs exactly as the musicians intended

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

what exactly does this mean? ive been thinking about this, and I can only come up with one thing: Jagex is getting a professonal music group to play ingame songs, much like many regular games you buy at the store do. does any one else have any ideas to what this could mean?

It just means they will update / change the system they use to play the songs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Currently these are in midi form, maybe they will update the midis or convert all of the songs in mp3s or something whith more diversity.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

They wont rewrite all of the songs, that is for sure.

it would be pretty expensive to re do all the songs with a professonal band, but runescape is making plenty of money, as they have almost 1 million members.

They have over 1 million members already. :)

There plainly isnt any point in rewriting the musics . . and anyway just read the announcement! Its clearly a music ENGINE update.

They are making the music better quality but at the same time reducing memory requirements.
