No, for each a brother you kill you have a chance of getting that armor. For example If you only kill Ahrim and Guthan, you have a chance at either an Ahrim or Guthan item.

If yuo go by that logic then, all skills are buyable. Think about woodcutting: The people who have the money for a dragon axe get faster exp.

The only way you can prove this is if you either ask a J Mod or test it. Often i get these "feelings". For example, being hit more often when not attacking back. -

Yes, I think it is a bug. Also I've heard of a similar bug where other people can come into the fight caves with you.
