onuasdad
Hello. My suggestion is that in a quote, beside the person's name, there's a link to the place where that place was posted, so people cold have more fun and see in what condition it was posted in. in the grayish ^^^^^ area above this, there would be a URL linked to the thread/post the person posted it in. I was in different forums before I joined this one, and I was shocked that it did'nt ahve the URL, as all the other ones did, and I was really used to it. "Less fun..." I thought to myself. I don't have any other words to say. Death should not be taken as 'the end,' but a very effective way to cut down taxes.
D. V. Devnull
I'll support this. It would make a nifty addition to be able to track down previous posts through that method. :) ~D. V. pryomancer
I think that would require a different sort of quote. The quotes here work by you taking some text with quote tags and optionally assigning a name to it. It's a good idea, but it might conflict with the current method, since I think that would need to stay, too. I've only ever used IF and phpbb forums, how did this quote thing work on the forum you used?
D. V. Devnull
I know you didn't aim this at me, but I have a thought for you to read. 8-) I think that would require a different sort of quote. Only slightly. But I get how it would work on here. : The quotes here work by you taking some text with quote tags and optionally assigning a name to it. We could add a post number through a quote tag with an expanded format, right? :-s And heck, we could call the tag "linkquote", and have it like... [linkquote=","][/linkquote] ...which would allow basically the same (with "") as a quote, but with the expanded ability to just specify a post number (with "") where the quote was coming from. It's a good idea, but it might conflict with the current method, since I think that would need to stay, too. So we'd allow both formats, no big deal. ... (I just hope that I've provided enough info to enable the idea to be made!) ~D. V. pryomancer
That sounds pretty plausible, I could see that working. :)
onuasdad
on teh bottom right of all posts is a tiny yellowish page; it has the link to the post that it's in. Is there any way to connect tah with the quotes? [quote name="onuasdad"=(INSERT POST URL HERE)] (quote) [/quote] ^^ that was the way i looked like in the other forums. Wih the techie admins this would defiantly be possible. Death should not be taken as 'the end,' but a very effective way to cut down taxes. pryomancer
onuasdad, that's what D_V_D was talking about. Every post has a unique number in it's url, that's how this quote thing could be plausible. on teh bottom right of all posts is a tiny yellowish page; it has the link to the post that it's in. Is there any way to connect tah with the quotes? [url=http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?p=6049815#p6049815] [quote name="onuasdad"]on teh bottom right of all posts is a tiny yellowish page; it has the link to the post that it's in. Is there any way to connect tah with the quotes?[/quote][/url] Lol, I was just messing around, and if you take a quote and wrap the url tags with the post link around it, you can click to go back to the original post. dsavi
That would require a lot of custom BBcode, and I mean custom custom bbcode. Not the kind that you can make from the ACP, as it only supports one value inside each bbcode tag.

dsavi
Well, if the admins don't have time to do it, do it yourself and send the code to the admins. Although I doubt I'm going to be doing anything like this soon as I am very immersed in 3d modeling/animation right now. :P

I hope someone else comes through with something. ~D. V. Devnull and normally with a cool mind.(Warning: This user can be VERY confusing to some people...
