I also find it offensive and have often wished it was blocked somehow.

Here on the forums I see it allot and the irony of it all is when someone says something like...*OMG, No religious talk on here*

I am like...Erm...yeah...whatever...

Thing is we deal with this sort of thing in real life as well...you learn after a while to get a thicker skin about hearing it and every so often you can set down with someone and have a sane one-on-one conversation and let them know how much that phrase hurts you. Most people just don't stop and think about how it is offensive to a wide variety of faiths and creeds. Most time a quiet conversation with someone is al you need to let them know...

It isn't a problem, considering the three following things:

1. Who's to say that by saying "Omg" that they are saying "Oh my god?" They could be saying "Oh my gosh."

2. Who's to say that even if they are talking about "god" that they are referring to your god? That seems pretty selfish in it's own sense, as you're basically saying that any god that is talked about is the Christian "God."

3. Some people, such as myself, have no religion, or different religions, and do not care that the specific phrase "omg" is being used. I couldn't care less, quite honestly, as my beliefs are different that yours. If Jagex changes this because you say so, what about the other millions of people who don't agree with that religion? I mean, if you were mature, and it offended you, then you just simply wouldn't use it. I just suppose we'll be all the the ones going to hell, now won't we? :roll:

As a side-note, I think that you bringing real life religion into a game is completely idiotic. As long as no one is blatantly going around trashing your god and/or religion, you shouldn't have a problem with it. I mean, all you're doing is showing weakness, and that you're having trouble following your own religion because others "misuse" it.

I think it would be a bit of overkill if 'omg' was censored. These days no one says it in reference to anything religious.

People say they are offended when people say it in game? Are you also offended when you have to go around killing other humans or when you have to complete a quest that helps an evil god?

christianity is, at its heart, supposed to be about doing good deeds, not using you-know-whos and you-know-whats. as a whole, this is a problem with the modern major religions, making controversy and wars over unimportant and misinterpreted parts of religion, instead of focusing on the basics of being good to one another.

Look, you can try to twist my words in whichever so way you please, but it will not escape the fact that the form of "Oh my gosh" just doesn't mean "Oh my god" anymore. Plenty of people use it as a term of disbelief such as the French phrase "bof!" or "Oh la la la la!" It is simply a term that unfortunetly many people now-a-days use as a scapegoat for their lack of "true" religion. They think that by complaining that it is bad they are being good Christians, but in reality I'm sure their god wouldn't care if others used it around them...just as long as they themselves did not say it. I mean, honestly...if it's THAT bad, just do not use it. You don't have to go around taking away everyone elses freedoms just because you think the word "gosh" is besmirching an entire religion.

Now, for lack of intelligence on your part, my entire family is heavy Catholic. So...trust me, I know the religion pretty well...I just don't follow it. That is my decision though, and if that is a problem for you...tell it to someone else.

Does it hurt you? I dont see how anyone can get upset over 3 letters. If jagex does more tweaks to the game to try to satisfy people who get upset over rediculous things then its not just the people who play the game who suck, but the game itself is gonna suck too.

Christanity is the single religion that has been so incredible screwed up that it makes no sense anymore.

Christanity has been screwed up since about the 4th century AD when the pope desided he didn't like the religion that much and changed it.

Christanity has been screwed up to fit in with the pagen belifes so that they would accept christanity.
