ventuzz
Disclaimer: This guide is made for F2P, I don't know how well will it work in Member world. So don't tell me if this guide suck if you didn't try F2P worlds. This is also based on between cook level 30 and above. This guide is pretty much toward people who want to get high level cook fast without paying too much gold. Pay only 260,496gp will get you from cook level 30 to 99? No way! Well this is no longer secret to me now. When I discover this I noticed Gerrant, the fisher merchant in Port Sarim, only sell raw herring for 1 gold piece each. Each cooked herring give 50 experience. Also another thing I noticed that stove range is right next to Gerrant's fishing store. I know it is fast and cheap (good cash vs exp ratio). 1350 xp each trip. You all probably agree with me. I will go into detail and math. I don't have information on when you don't stop burn herring so I will go with information above level 30. Head to Port Sarim and check on Gerrant, switch world if necessary, look for highly stocked raw herrings. Such like this (in red circle):  Let get started, you just basically bring only cash and 27 raw herring. You buy 27 raw herring from him. Run to stove behind Gerrant's fishing store. Cook them, drop them and run back. Buy raw herring until he has 87 raw herrings in stock because if it hit 86, it cost 2gp each. If you cannot find any highly stocked raw herrings, you have to wait another time or do different thing. Gerrant only restock from player sold raw herring. Reminder: You cannot sell cooked food to Gerrant Here's some ways that you can speed up progress: 1. Right click on item and click "buy 10" (everyone should know that anyway) 2. Only use RUN when going to stove range. 3. When done cooking and heading back, WALK 4. Drop cooked herrings on the way back (can be annoy, practice on it) Here's some calculation I have done, default pathing does like this: It takes approx 25 seconds to: 1. Buy fully stocked Raw Herrings to your inventory 2. Run to Stove (if all door is open) 3. Click raw herring on stove, right click and click "Cook All" (not counting cooking time) It takes approx 25 seconds again to: (not counting cooking time) 1. Walk back toward Gerrant (if all door is open) 2. Drop all cooked Herrings on the way 3. Trade with Gerrant It takes approx 1 minute and 55 seconds for a full trip: 1. Buy fully stocked Raw Herrings to your inventory 2. Run to Stove (if all door is open) 3. Click raw herring on stove, right click and click "Cook All" (including cooking time) 4. Walk back toward Gerrant (if all door is open) 5. Drop all cooked Herrings on the way 6. Trade with Gerrant (using 2 minutes each trip interval) 30 minutes = 20250 xp 1 hour = 40500 xp From 30 to 40, need 23,861 xp, and 478 Herrings --- 18 Trips, 36 minutes, pay 486gp From 40 to 50, need 64,109 xp, and 1,283 Herrings --- 48 Trips, 1 hour 36 minutes, pay 1,296gp From 50 to 60, need 172,409 xp, and 3,449 Herrings --- 128 Trips, 4 hours 16 minutes, pay 3,456gp From 60 to 70, need 463,885 xp, and 9,278 Herrings --- 344 Trips, 11 hours 28 minutes, pay 9,288gp From 70 to 80, need 1,248,441 xp, and 24,969 Herrings --- 925 Trips, 30 hours 50 minutes, pay 24,975gp From 80 to 90, need 3,360,264 xp, and 67,206 Herrings --- 2490 Trips, 83 hours, pay 67,230gp From 90 to 99, need 7,688,099 xp, and 153,762 Herrings --- 5695 Trips, 189 hours 50 minutes, pay 153,765gp Total from 30 to 99 --- 9648 Trips, 321 hours 36 minutes, pay 260,496gp --- Total not accuracy, they should be slight lower than those. You guys probably should just stop at 60 or 70 and then start focusing on tuna and lobster. And you guys probably should not work hard 24 hours straight mindlessly buying and cooking herrings. If you want to split time to cook herring 6 hours per day then double the time. If you want to split time to cook herring 3 hours per day then 4x the time and so on. I'm terrible at organizing notes and guide. If you have info, suggestion, or want to help then post here or PM me. I'll probably update this then. kwimbob
That's a pretty good idea for starting cooking :D. Don't forget the one other method of cooking though: Cook what you fish. That way you get the two levels to go up nicely together. But if they're ever off-balanced or you want to sell your raws, this is a pretty good method of getting it back up. Combat 116+; Total 1900+; All Hard Tasks; (Nearly) All quest points; (Nearly) All skills 60+; An aquatic moose ninja.Currently: Using 63 hunter to get some of those "Chins", then I'm going to range stuff down. Interruptions of agility when I feel like it, as well. And lucky enough to get 4 Dragon and 6 Barrow Drops.[hide]Kwimbob now looks exactly like me in real life except for hair color. Yes, this means I look exactly like the protagonist of that certain anime that my second character, Faye_V is also named after. Yes, I bought a jacket that also looks like his. No in real life I don't have a slain bear to sling over my shoulders. Yes, I'm that skinny even if I no-life it for years in basements. No, I can't shoot a gun. Yes, I can win any other strategic video game you have never played - because I probably have, ahahaha. And yes, I also have brown eyes, yet one of my eyes looks different from the other. And yes, I'm completely oblivious to the [real] world around me as I constantly engineer new solutions to daily problems in my head. When I get hungry, all that isn't food can wait. When I'm sleepy - nothing is of any priority in front of sleep. But at any other time, I never slow down. Never give up. Never Surrender. Makes for a good life.[hide]YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.- See You, Space Cowboy.[/hide][/hide]

ventuzz
Yes, I forgot to mention that you cannot sell cooked food to Gerrant, I should update then. *edit* @tyluke I thought it look smaller and nicer with "day" in it, but yes I think I understand that it's easier to see just "hour". Changed it. Hacked 10 years old account, permamently quit if Jagex doesn't return items.
