August 8, 201213 yr I dont really know which of these are most likely to work, but they are suggestions, so pick and choose the ones you like: 1. Automatically remove key marks when a door is opened2. Automatically mark keys (maybe with button press) when camera focused on key door (use compass near minimap + map to figure out which side to mark)3. Method of marking skill doors/rooms and the skill requirement(s)4. Method of mapping location of each person's personal gatestone5. Method of showing who has the group gatestone6. Don't bother spamming names when all players are in the same room Thanks!
August 8, 201213 yr I've been toying with the last one trying to find a clean way of implementing it. I don't like how it bunches up either. Marking personal gatestones is on my list as well. I had skill doors included but people complained a lot about it and it was surprisingly not used often. Removing keys when doors are opened is a great idea. I've been working with someone, developing a way to predict and show what could be the largest path. This could use the same room detection method.
August 8, 201213 yr Author Cool! that last one looks like it will be useful. Does that mean that it would or would not auto-detect key doors? Would you be able to implement skill doors in a cleaner fashion that will not get in the way? (I didnt use this till it came on tip.it, so I dont know what the problem was). Why cant people who dont like it just hide it?
August 9, 201213 yr How would I implement it? I could make it so the key utility can switch to skills and split the up into Artisan, Gatherer, Survivalist, etc? I'm not sure. It's hard to implement without it getting ugly. A lot of people in DGS use the GoS key to mark pot doors, since the actual key doesn't exist. >.<
August 9, 201213 yr Author Whats the GoS? Gold Shield? You mean to break it up by potion type? What if it doesn't need a boost, just another player?
August 10, 201213 yr I'm considering this:IDK though. I'm rebuilding it from the ground up for the fourth time, so I'll probably come up with something better by then. :P.
August 12, 201213 yr Author Gatestones shouldn't require their own tab, depending on how much gui you have for that. What were you thinking of?
August 12, 201213 yr After some thought... Since I'm rebuilding it entirely anyways, I'm going to completely scrap the RuneScape look. I'm going to make it look and feel more professional, which will hopefully help with people's comfort in using it. With that said, he's a quick preview! Now, click the 'Legend" tab will expand/contract the legend to show all the names underneath like it used to. Names will also be able to be shown on the map as it currently does. Time will be shown on the map window. Pot/riddle will use the same tabbed window. Thoughts? :). I only did all of this tonight... So don't judge it as final yet.
August 12, 201213 yr Author Looking good so far... Why are the legend and map tab in different places? How do you keep track of the group gatestone? Are people expected to know which color gatestone is whos? Can you place your own gatestone without clicking on your color? EDIT: In the current version, when you leave the dungeon, the map does not clear. Maybe this could be changed in your 350th remake?
August 13, 201213 yr I'm making it like this again: Where the names can also be displayed off the map. I didn't think there was need for a GT icon, since that's most often times being carried. The map doesn't clear at the end of the floor because a lot of the time afterward people discuss the previous floor, what went wrong and could have been done better. :P.
August 13, 201213 yr If you wanted to try out the other gray/non stylized look, you could always try adding a "skins" option? I don't know if that would be possible, but it's worth mentioning.
August 13, 201213 yr Author If you wanted to try out the other gray/non stylized look, you could always try adding a "skins" option? I don't know if that would be possible, but it's worth mentioning. +1 The gt is most often carried, but who has it right now? or is it carried? Then there could be a button to clear it?
August 14, 201213 yr As for the skill rooms.. would it be hard to implement text-markers on user imput? Most rooms can be described short enough:cfer, ffer, fer, port, gh, blo, emo, bar, .. up to end user to keep tags short enough for it to be readable.
August 14, 201213 yr I don't plan to add those abbreviations, sorry. :(. As for the others, how are the current abbreviations difficult? O_o
August 15, 201213 yr Author They are not difficult, they just take time to memorize. New dungeoneers have to memorize whatever abbreviations are used - however infrequently.
August 16, 201213 yr They've been helping me a lot the past few weeks while I've been coding and I've recently joined their friends chat. They asked and I accepted. :P. They help me out, I help them out - Good for both of us. ^^. They really are great people, Matt and Tati, and I found their friends chat really helpful. They also had a great reputation with DGS members, which is why I chose them over others. Keep in mind that DGS is not associated with leech CCs and does not endorse leeching. DGS is a clan to learn to dungeoneering efficiently and effectively.
August 16, 201213 yr Author What do you do in their friends chat? and why bother everybody with that advertisement?
August 16, 201213 yr There's different groups of players. Some like to dungeoneer, other prefer to pay. There's nothing wrong with paying, it's no different then paying big bucks to level other skills fast. It's all how much you're willing to pay. Hell, I love to dungeoneer. It's the biggest (probably only) reason I still play. However, when floors slow down in DGS, I can go code while paying for some floors. The friends chat I put up is very well known and very professional. I was asked several times by other friends chats over the months, but they didn't have the reputation that this one did. Plus, I write the DGSweeper to help and also advertise DGS, and a lot of them sell in it. I wouldn't expect it to bug people. It's simply letting people know they exist. The background used to be big images advertising other things. It's a lot less... Flashy... Then the other ads I've had on it in the past. :P. Remember, DGS as a clan does not encourage leeching floors. This decision was me trying to help out a group of people who've also helped me out in the past. :).
August 16, 201213 yr I don't plan to add those abbreviations, sorry. :(. As for the others, how are the current abbreviations difficult? O_o Don't have to add set abbreviations, but for those that want to mark skill rooms they could maybe add text up to 4 chars to a room?Just listed those as examples of how one could quickly add a text marker that describes the skill room. Just a thought anyway
August 20, 201213 yr Author An fc that advertises with autotypers shouldn't be granted legitimate advertisemnts unless they stop the unlawful ones. No other skill costs 400m+ to get 99 in, so it is not the same as training other skills. Also, it is trust trades, with potential to lose the money. What happens if you disconnect right after the boss is killed?

What happens if you disconnect right after the boss is killed? If you paid 400m+ you got ripped off pretty badly.86-99 was about 100m or so for me. Don't pay the prices the fc's advertise, there is far cheaper out there. And don't start leeching too early when the tradeoff gp to exp is horrible.
