Say I wanted to get 99 slayer as fast as possible. I'll use cannon wherever possible.

What slayer tasks should I block and which slayer tasks should I cancel?

Please don't consider which monsters have good charms/loot. I just want the fastest exp possible.

Do: black demons, black dragons, dark beasts, ice strykes, Jad, hellhounds, bloodveld, suqah, greaters (Forinthry dungeon), kalphites, abyssal demons (soa), abberant spectres.

Pretty much that. If you only have one kiln cape, you can drop it before getting a task to essentially block ice strykes. They're not that bad, but a free block is always good.

You don't want to block ice strykes, they reduce the gp/xp cost of slayer and they are faster than the average task you do (about 50-52k/hr with above-average effigy rates).

SoAing abyssals REALLY isn't worth it for nearly everyone. That shit is SERIOUSLY expensive.

I personally almost always skipped abyssals and ice strykes. Out of curiosity, what is the slay xp/hr when soaing abyssals? Is soa enough of a dps increase to be worth not being on the lunar spellbook. (So unable to use the NPC contact + Sumona cancelling combo)

Polypore is roughly equal to melee (especially with the new robes), so SoA should be a good bit faster. I'm not sure what the kph is for melee, say 250?. That would put SoA at 300ish?. It's not going to be great slayer xp (150 each), but as mage slayer goes, it's great.

Anyway, I was bored so I went to dagannoth sentinels for a while to test Melee and polypore w/ the new robes. Sample size was 750 hits each.

Melee did 334,210 damage per hour and Magic did 338,920. Pretty surprising outcome, in my opinion. Sure, the sample size isn't very big and dagannoth sentinels probably don't have the same stab defence and mage defence, but whatever.

I'm sure 750 hits won't satisfy you, but given that we know abyss to be a bit weaker to magic...

So you're using the unscientific conclusions of a test vs a monster with almost no defense to approximate the kph of a monster with more significant defense, without knowing either monster's defense rating?

Yes, and no.
First of all, sentinels don't have almost no defence, as evidenced by the fact that goliath gloves have much more dps than whips.
Secondly, the test is perfectly valid scientifically.
Thirdly, abyssal demons are known to be weak to magic & to have a fair amount of melee defence (as slayer monsters go).

Instead of coming up with random accusations, you could provide some data that proves you right perhaps, because the test above is a very strong indication that abyss are good to polypore, which iirc was already tested by Grimy months ago.

i personally blocked ice strykes because to me they seem to slow to kill
