WRITE FOR THE TIMES - SUBMIT A GUEST ARTICLE:

Remember, YOU can write an article for the Tip.It Times! You can apply to write full time, or just submit a "one-off" guest article any time you want! Our editors will work with you to ensure that your article is ready for publication. All guest articles can be submitted to @tripsis or any other Editorial Panel member. For more information, including details on how to apply full time, read this forum thread: http://forum.tip.it/topic/209138-how-to-write-for-the-tipit-times/

I'd like to remind people of the rules pertaining to Times threads:

[hide=Read these rules before posting in this thread]

Rampant flame wars have taken control of virtually every week's times discussion topics. The following guidelines must be followed when posting on this topic. Posts that ignore these guidelines will be removed.

1. You are invited and welcome to express like or dislike on articles and a particular author's writing style. It is not acceptable, however, to flame or personally insult an author. Posts that aren't anything but an attack will be removed from the topic.

2. Spelling and grammar errors can be reported to tripsis by PMing her and they will be fixed promptly. It is not necessary to post them on the discussion topic.

3. Off topic posts that do not discuss the content of that week's articles will be removed. This is not the place to discuss the direction of the times, how much you love or hate the times, etc. Off topic posts will be removed.

By keeping within these guidelines, Times discussion topics will mean more for the Panel and Administration than just a place for flame wars. Flame wars do not provide any useful feedback to the Times, which is mainly what we're aiming for with these topics: feedback.

This policy is effective as of now, November 17, 2010. Any posts prior to the creation of this policy may or may not be removed according to the new guidelines.

[/hide]

[hide=Submitting Crossword Puzzles]If you want to submit your own crossword puzzle, it's quite simple.

Simply provide a word list (about 10-20 words) with their corresponding clues. Then, message @The Floating Pen with the word list and it will eventually be published in the Tip.it Times![/hide]

When replying please make sure to clarify the article you are replying to! Thanks!

If you spot any typos or mistakes in an article then please PM them to @tripsis. :)

Enjoy the articles!

2 problems,

first: there is no "did you know?"

Second: some of those hints for the crossword are a bit eh. second id say the bottom half of the puzzle was high level slayer, they top half not so much.

that is just me though

We've been running short on DYK Facts for a while, so if you can think of any, please submit them! We will definitely appreciate it! :)

As for the crossword, I considered anything assigned by Kuradal to be "high level" although other criteria could be used. I'm definitely not the best at coming up with these clues every week, so if you can create some awesome clues, I would really appreciate the help. :P

Get a job hippie! :p

Haha time... if I attend a clan event it's 0:00-06:00am my time, insomnia has it's perks ; ) . Monopolized FC's do make up for a quik meetup but it's so hollow. & the overall attitude towards PVP on the(se) forums it doesn't suprise me at all, you're to the point, it's all but xp, money and NO FUN. I do appreciate the effort and sometimes efficiency some of these FC's churn out but along with this form of community people take it all for granted too easily.

Time... I spend a few hours of my day PCing various items, respect is gone, i'll tell you that!

In the meanwhile i'll be hosting a Duel arena "tournament" soon :>

Great article.

I would say the people that "grew up" with rs are long quit or late college now

I started at 15 lets say others started at 13 or so so maybe midcollege? or if people started in 2004 /2005 in the work world.

College you have way more choice over your schedule. Many people also move to other games too especially ones that don't only involve grinding or are more friendly to play irregularly. I think there is much less teenagers though they still are replacing people that grew up with scape though I read a statistic 56% of people have played over 5 years so it probably does mean not many people are coming in fresh. I also Think scape is harder to start fresh I mean you can't really jump in and be able to compete with people that have been playing for years. Other games that have higher fan bases have this problem too but its not guaranteed grinding and it is possible to speed up learning a lot but with scape it isn't really.
