  1. How many times will I have to do rogue's Den Maze to get full set of rogues armour? If you need to, be general. Am I looking at 5-10, 20-50, or what? -Recksash
  2. Out of Runescape's "Community" Jagex's crackdown effected the following types of players in an arguably negative fashion: -Pkers -Merchanters -Gold Farmers -Stakers If any of the above constitutes of such a large percentage of your time that you are willing to quit the game because they suffer, then you aren't playing Runescape to its full potential. There are many other things you can do in Runescape besides kill players and cheat them out of their money anyway.
  3. aww.... thanks anyway! ^-^
  4. I did the whole enchanted key thing and got all three, but I dont see much use for them... Are they even trade able? Do they serve any purpose?
  5. I tried to wield goblin mail... Ran away from the giant spiders around lumby... Started cooks assistant, it was too hard... Was helped by a high level, I still remember his username even if he's not on my buddy list, I think he quit... Mined 500 coal, traded it to a friend for a mith scim that I couldn't wield... Crapped my pants when I was able to smith Iron... Was sooo happy when I had 3k from selling iron stuff to the store...
  6. :XD: The funny thing is that you actualy could!
  7. So uh... what would this "brutal" skill do? Let you beat kittens to death?
  8. It's arithmetic, which, even if it is very simple, is still math ^-^. -reck
  9. yeah, i realize that you have to spend real time to get Runescape stuff, and I used to the word "pixels" to emphasize that it's funny how much people will pay for stuff that is really, when you come down to it, colored dots. Even though those dots represent possibly thousands hours of RS "work", they're still dots. But I love my pixels anyway -reck
  10. Did you know... The examine for money was changed from "Lovely Money!" to simply an exact number of the coins you have.
  11. Whoops, accidental post.
  12. [hide] Some games have a perfect community? Alas no, I play both WoW and RS and other MMO's NONE of them have a completely mature community - "noobs" exist everywhere if you excuse the term and RS has its fair share of them - like so many threads in the rants forum are told +ignore solves the problem of immaturity straight off - its just two clicks. Ok, said this many times now - Jagex = company, companies exist to make profit, the world of business is not full of benevolence and empathy, don't like? Go communist. Did RS ever have blood and gore? :-s I'm not sure if it did but I think its a pretty big step to say it was never put in to keep the game for young ones - remember the age of joining is 13+, many 12+ games in the UK have blood/gore with no problems - maybe the Gowers just don't want it in there? Was a great update for f2p, they got a whole new dungeon out of it, with 4 new monsters, 3 new items and a 10k prize - so it had an underlying theme of security - its now used by many high level members (especially for slayer - Axe man Jack has even noted its use in his famous guide). Hardly an update for all the kiddies. quest points please? You ever try MEP2 or MM without a guide? Do the quests how Jagex intended and you will notice a severe rise in difficulty. Ok here we go.... [hide]Desert treasure: you end up releasing a power servant to the god of evil from his eternal prison Hazeel's mark: you resurrect an equally similar demon followed by a cult of black cloaked priests. Devious minds: you manufacture a weapon for a shadowy stranger which is later used to murder two priests and steal a holy relic Regicide: you kill a king, only to find out you have been betrayed and have in fact just murdered the good guy[/hide] These are just the ones of the top of my head (full QP ftw) and I'm sure I could find more given time. I'm sorry, when did you write the rules of fantasy? I could imagine a demon howling, or at least giving a damn good shout. The graphics are improving, just not to your personal preference - dragons are a great example as another poster said.
  13. +1 This would very nearly make me quit the game. It would totally kill Runescape for me. Unless there was a quest where you get to kill the McDonald's clown....
  14. Yeah, I guess it's easier than mugging an old lady because you can't really be traced, and less guilt because you don't know the person. But, it's still stealing.
  15. Blue Party Hats are about 480 mill (I just checked now on the RSOF) *I would never even think about buying RS gold, so please don't flame me* However, out of curiosity I checked the conversion rates of GP(I have no idea what this stands for but it's RS gold) to USD(United States Dollar) It's currently about 5 USD:1 million GP That means a blue party hat is worth $2,400 dollars. That blows my mind. To think that a collection of pixels in the shape of a blue pointy hat is worth twenty-four hundred dollars! Puts a new spin on it eh? To think that the Blue Party hat sitting in your bank(if you are lucky enough to have one) is probably worth more than your computer... So to link this to Giboscam's post on virtue, if indirectly. Would you take a rich player's blue phat if you didn't know them at all? (naturally assuming he didn't cheat to get it)Because a Blue Party Hat is more than pixels, it's like stealing actual money. A better question might be:Would you take a rich player's computer? -reck PS. Please respond to what other people say too! That's what makes discussions interesting
  16. I'll be sure not to lend you my party hat sets any time soon :P ...not that I could afford them....ever -reck
  17. After reading what everybody posted, these are my opinions. -They liven up nat crafting somewhat. -Yes, stopping someone from getting their pouches back is evil. -They run simply because they don't want to die and lose their stuff, same as everyone (not everyone runs, but no one wants to lose pixels), but running after just one spec may be pushing it =/ -Yes, losing pouches is not fun. -People do it because it's a cheaper, watered down version of pking. Baby steps! -If they run away when you try to kill them, so much the better for you! That's one less trying to kill you.. Those with contrary opinions, please respond :P -reck
  18. 1. If a friend from RL lent you a party hat to wear once and give back, would you take it?HELL NO! 2. If an ingame friend gave you his partyhat to wear then give back, would you take it?I have one or two friends I'd give back, but for the most I'd keep 3. If a rich person you hardly knew lent you his partyhat to wear and give back, would you take it?Ouch, that's hard. If he was really nice and we could possibly be friends I'd prolly give it back. Even though this is an extremely unrealistic situation. Unless a scam is afoot. 4. If you knew someones password, and knew they were rich, would you take their stuff? Not everything, but if he's a hunderd millionaire with full phat, I'd take like 5 mill. Hey, I'm poor! Then I'd tell him to change his pass. The temptation might be too great... 5. Would you kill a skulled person in the wilderness for a partyhat? If I wouldn't get my [wagon] handed to me on a platter by a level 126, then yes. But i wouldn't rub it in or anything 6. Would you accept a duel with a much lower level that stakes all his money (say 5 mil)?Well, I dont have 5 Mill. But if I magically had 5 mill and he wasn't some pure that would kill me then, YES! But I'd prolly give like a mill back so he can make it back. And Finally, the big one that expect the vary the most 7. If someone died, and dropped something valuable, would you give it back. AND how valuable would it have to be for you to keep it?This has 3 variables. 1-Where did he die? -If I killed him in wildy then no =p 2-How expensive is it/what level is he/she? (basicly can they afford to lose it) -I probably wouldn't give back a whip if like a lvl 126 died, I need it more than he does! 3-How nice is he/she? -If someone repeatedly calls me a ch00b and to get away from their experiment spawn when he* has 3 open spots...I'm keeping the p-hat when he dies of bad karma in the form of the evil chicken!! There, I answered your questions! -Reck
  19. Price is actually not determened by any of these, but supply and demand. If demand is high and supply is low, its super expensive. If demand is low and supply is high, its low in price. But, If the demand is high, but the supply is high (Whips) They continue to fall until the demand is higer than supply, or until they go so low the supply refuses to get more, and thus making demand higher. However, if both supply and demand are BOTH low, like erm.. Bronze Boots? Then they arn't worth much, since theres no demand :) Thats how it works. Example: Dark Bow. On day of release, it was low supply and high demand = High price. A month later, still a semi-low supply, but not as high demand, so a fairly lower price. Yes, but the factors that lewagold2 mentioned strongly effect Supply and Demand , so they do have an effect on price. People wouldn't want the weapon if it wasn't fast, strong, or cool looking, so there wouldn't be much Demand ^-^ And conversely, if it was hard to get, then Supply would be low. On Topic The Godsword will not be worthless. And it will not get rid of the whip. It will have most likely be very slow, powerful, and rare. There's a good chance it will be 2-handed as well It wont get rid of the whip, just as the msb didn't become worthless after the advent of the Darkbow. It'll just be another weapon. But I hope that it will help add variety to the game ^-^ I'm sick of only seeing whips. That's all -reck
