So we can't go a day without food, why? If I know I have a chance of starving to death, there's a good damn possibility I won't eat every day and only one meal a day. I'd probably eat every three days. So divide each days food into 3 meals, which is enough to last for 10 days. So only eating one meal a day instantly takes that up to 30 days. Then only eating every 3 days gives me about three months. I get rescued in about a month and a half huh, bring it on? Even assuming we only have one meal for each day that's still 30 days with food. it'd run out in about a month, humans can survive about a month without food. We get rescued in 12 days, no sweat.
