  1. 'ello, community. Played RS back in the day. I mean.. waay back. Back when there were only a few worlds and everyone was friendly and poli- Nevermind. Since I first created The Wimp (my one and only character), I'd only ever play for a month or so then just stop for a year or two. I also used Tip.It a lot, a while back I had an attempt at some stories in the forum as I've always enjoyed fantasy stories and fan fics but as far as I remember, that was my only activity on the forums. Anyway... rather than playing heavily and disappearing for years, I'm going to try and do a little bit a day. Due to the nature of my job, I can't play as heavily as I could during my days in school or college So, there it is. Hello.
  2. I think this is a great idea, even though I don't have an untidy bank (at the moment). I suggest this for all the flamers. Have an option to switch between the normal standard bank and this new one. (if it ever gets put into the game, which I REALLY hope it does) This could help so many people and make this game less frustrating for people who don't have time to stand around and carefully organise their bank only to have them mess it up when they withdraw or add something.
  3. Is it just me or is ancient magicks way too powerful? It totally ruins castle wars in my opinion since most the ancients seem to gang up on one team to ensure victory, so there is a constant ice barrage on the opposing team, it's totally unfair. I don't really go to the wilderness but I can imagine any "professional" pker, or group of pkers probably has one or more ancients. To me it's a pure player killer that makes mages too powerful. Discuss!
  4. "Sending the bulk of our army into the wilderness to battle them is a big mistake, the wilderness is... Dare I say it, cursed. There are monsters of any kind in there, even the famed dragons call it home and staying in the wilderness too long will make you different, in a bad way." Totally ignoring King Roald, they talked about what to do and how to do the ideas they come up with, some bad, some good untill finally the King said something "So basically we cannot send any large amount of troops in there and anything smaller than our army will not stand a chance?" Leighton, talking more in this meeting than he had all week answered. "Yes, we cannot destroy them but we can send some of our most covert soldiers there to scout around and probably kill the leader of the army, if not some high ranking soldiers." He looked at Krier when he mentioned the covert soldiers. "Fine, fine, I'll send the strikers in but we don't usually do our work that far away from the main army, it could get dangerous. I suppose if we get caught we could run to some abandoned fort or other defendable position and call for help but for that we need Reoshin." Pravus looked at Reoshin and was about to ask if it was alright with him. "Yeah, it's fine. I could probably find a spell for an illusion if it gets too bad out there. Pravus and Tamanier can easily hold things together in Varrock if anything bad happens." They all seemed to be in agreement and just before they got up they realised the King was mock sleeping. After a few seconds of silence the King stood up and said "Sounds like a plan to me! Oh and Reoshin, before you go could you find some time to help the monks in the temple to the east of here? They need to strengthen the river salve to stop the Morytanian hordes from coming over." Reoshin nodded and with that, they all left to do their assigned duties. While everyone else was getting ready to do their important mission, Pravus and Tamanier and Leighton with nothing to do, so they decided to explore the region of Misthalin. The officers left in charge in Varrock were perfectly capable of keeping things under control. After a few hours of exploring the countryside and hassling farmers, the three soldiers made their way back to Varrock. Pretty soon after they got inside the Varrock city gates they felt a familiar feeling, being teleported. When they got to the location they looked around to find out where they were. The Wilderness. They noticed several squads of Strikers kneeling down a distance away while Krier and Reoshin were on their stomachs on the top of the large mound they were on, Reoshin turned around quietly told them to get down, they did so. "Why did you teleport us?" Krier answered instead of Reoshin "You really want to see this..." he pointed to what they were looking at. Pravus saw the enemy army but they looked... wrong. It was too quiet, you'd expect an untrained rabble of idiots to be disorderly and not know what a formation was, but they were totally quiet and in perfect line formations. He couldn't help but notice the red robed men in front of the formations, they were all chanting and waving their arms around then they suddenly stopped. Every single man in the army pulled out daggers or swords and cut their hand, or wrist. They were too far away to see everything in perfect detail. When they all put their weapons away, they stuck their arm out in front of them to let the blood hit the ground. Nothing happened for quite some time but they didn't move out of curiosity , they wanted to see what was going on. After a little more waiting, something happened. The ground shook a little and bloodstained rocks lifted up out of the ground and formed a large empty circle near the Zamorak priests. Some more chanting and a large portal opened up inside the circle of rocks. Pravus could see that there was another place through the portal and it terrified him. He could hear demonic screams from the portal and he saw figures emerging out of the portal, they were demons but they looked alot worse than the garden variety demons you could find in Karamja volcano or the Mages tower near Draynor. None of them had wings and they looked about the same size as a lesser demon and they came out slowly. One of the first demons that came through looked at the army in front of them and screamed, it hurt for Pravus to hear so it must of been agony for the people next to the demon. Shortly after the scream a flood of demons came out of the portal. After a few minutes the constant stream of demons ended and they were all just standing there doing nothing. Another scream from one of the many demons made them all go beserk, they started attacking the closest human then move onto the next and the next. The demons were fast and terrifying beyond measure and quickly wiped out the entire army, then they turned on the Zamorak priests. The demons started eating the bodies of the fallen quickly. When all the dead were consumed the demons started to scream in pain and they started to grow, some grew bigger, some grew wings, some grew horns and some became black in colour. One lucky demon grew in size that nearly doubled all the other demons. Pravus turned to his friends "... I think we should leave" They all nodded and Krier waved to the Strikers to follow them.
  5. The inn smelt... otherworldly. Pravus and a few of his close friends and best soldiers were all sitting at the bar seeing whose liver would be bleeding ale out of their eyes, nose and mouth by the end of the night. The group of friends consisted of Pravus, the most average looking person you could ever see and probably one of the fastest, both physically and mentally and the youngest of the five soldiers. His best friend was Tamanier, while of average height and build, he posessed an unusual strength that could seem like magic and he had known Pravus since they both became city militia and they quickly moved up in rank together. Krier, while a close friend of everyone there, was always considered a loner who preferred the quietness of a forest to the drunken banter, he was unoficially in charge of the archers and crossbowmen but was officially the leader of the Strikers, the covert assassins which usually served as scouts. Reoshin, recently put in the army to lead the battlemages was a very smart man and was always the one people looked to for solutions. Leighton. Leighton was just weird in so many ways. He had been a soldier as long as anyone could remember and no one knew what he did before, or anything else for that matter. His mind worked differently than anyone elses, he saw two things, friendly or enemy and he could always tell when someone had bad intentions. He barely spoke at all but when he did it was always important, oh and he was an amazing fighter. "What I don't understand--" Tamanier burped so loudly that people across the room looked around "-- Is why isn't King Roald a complete pompous moron like Lathas?" Reoshin who usually had to answer questions stayed quiet, sipping his ale and let Pravus answer. "King Roald is a good man who respects people and their opinions. Lathas is a complete idiot that thinks he has the power of a God. If I ordered a messenger to speak when I was in the presence of King Lathas, I'd be executed within the hour." "Why is this guy different though?" "I'm guessing that Roald is the kind of King that charges into battle with his army unlike Lathas, just sits in the castle while everyone does his bidding. Roald knows that there is no point in being an idiot during a war. If there was relative peace throughout the kingdoms, I'd probably get a slap on the head with a rolled up scroll like a bad puppy." "Fair enough." was Tamanier's response, followed by another earth shattering belch that was shortly followed by the foulest smell ever. "What the hell is wrong with you, Tam!?" "Sorry." "That's a woman's belch." Made the entire group look at Leighton. "You don't say a single word all night then you say that? I really don't understa-" He was suddenly interrupted by Leighton's belch, it was like a walrus. A huge stinking walrus. The group could instantly tell that the belching was getting on people's nerves as they saw beer glasses thrown in their direction, smashing on the walls near them. A drunkard's warning shot if you will. "I think we should leave, I can see plenty of knives just waiting to be thrown." No one questioned Krier's eye for danger and they walked out, hitting the next building to serve alcohol. After a few more drinks at the third inn, Reoshin finally asked something important. "So Pravus, what did the messenger say?" "Errrgh... Something about the wilderness, ask me in the morning." They had no choice but to ask him in the morning as he had passed out. Tamanier picked him up and they all staggered off to the officer's barracks in the Palace. They all got a stupid amount of sleep and awoke to buckets beside their beds. "The servants got us vomit buckets? That probably means the King knows that we got absolutely destroyed last night. You think he'll be angry?" Said a hung over Pravus. "Hey, hey hey! You still haven't told us what the messenger said!" Pravus thought to himself, trying to remember what he said or did last night." "Oh, I remember! He said 'My lord, your bath is ready'." ... They all just stared at Pravus for about five minutes. ... "I never said it was important, stop staring at me like that!" Krier pulled out a throwing knife and made odd gestures with it, jokingly but nonetheless terrifying. After they had all got ready and cleaned themselves they headed to the King's meeting room. The first person to say anything was Reoshin. "This is a disturbingly large room." It was agreed upon by nods and murmurs. Leighton spent a good five minutes making eye contact with a stuffed dragon head mounted on the wall while the others were just taking in the opulence of the room, everything seemed to be laced, plated or made of gold. The King came in after a short while, followed by a housecarl carrying scrolls. After he sat down and the scrolls and charts were laid out, he gestured that they should sit down and the housecarl leave. "Reports came in from our scouts in the Wilderness, there's huge movements of troops moving to this position" pointing to an area of the wilderness on one of the maps. "I'm just a humble king but I'm pretty sure that it's a great place to gather an army." After the group looked over the reports, maps and other scrolls they started giving their opinions. "An army of significant size would probably mean that every scum bag and delinquent that calls the wilderness home would have to be in this army, who can command that much power, fear or respect to turn those idiots into an army." "If the various Zamorakians in the wilderness are in this army, then it must benefit them in some way or if they of all people got scared into this army, this is terrible news." After some awkward silence, Leighton spoke up. "Daquarius." ... "The Black Knights are the closest thing to allies that the Zamorakians have. They are also one of the biggest threats to law and order in Runescape and have enough power to create an army. While not large enough in number to challenge us directly, if he gathered every single criminal he can get his hands on into one army and gave them minimal training they could pose a great threat and he would hardly have to use his own Black Knights to fight, why use your own soldiers when you've got tens of thousands of people that will fight for you?" ... The king just looked at Leighton for a few seconds "He's weird."
  6. Still holding his hand Pravus didn't notice the small army of palace guards behind him "Outnumbered ninety to one I'd say..." Before any of the guards took a step or a swing, the king shouted them all to stop. "Oh excellent timing you layabouts." He kicked one of the assassins in the shoulder. "These are the only threats here, except for your incompotence. If they're still alive take them to the dungeon and torture them or do whatever it is you do." The mob of guards disbanded and went about their usual duties while an insanely large guard picked up BOTH assassins easily and just walked off. Pravus looked at the king. The king looked at him. "So why are you still smiling?" "I found that amusing in my own weird way." "Weird indeed... My lord." "So what can I do for you...?" "Oh, I'm Pravus, Knight General of the King's armies" He said his title with a glint of pride, as there is only one person of that rank at any time and he almost has as much power as a King. The King was about to say something when he was interrupted by a soldier , one of Pravus'. Pravus and the King both gestured that he should speak, at the same time. It was kind of awkward. The soldier spoke anyway. ___________ Gotta go.
  7. After the various, relatively easy victories against the Khazard, Ardougne was safe enough to be left in the hands of the city guard and the Kandarin army could help out in all the other towns and cities. "Relleka is under attack from the Dagannoth creatures, sir. Should we go help them?" "Are you kidding? The Rellekans love fighting those things, if we interfere they'll be after us like a thief on a coin purse. We continue our march to Catherby and hope the dwarves will let us use the shortcut under the mountain." The soldier saluted and went back into formation, Pravus would turn and look around him just to watch his army march. It wasn't technically his army but he was the highest ranking Knight there since all the generals were stuffing their faces at some castle and not giving a damn about how many soldiers die, only if they got the victory or not. Pravus was proud to be a Knight of the Kandarin army, the most highly trained, hardened fighting force in Runescape... That was fighting for good anyway. The army stopped and took a small rest while Pravus and a few of his sargeants went to talk to the dwarf "guarding" the staircase into the pass. The dwarf didn't take much persuading to let them use the pass, not with several thousand armed soldiers in sprinting distance. While Pravus was walking under the mountain he noticed the mountain must be pretty small as the underground shortcut was pretty short, they could see the staircase up already. As they passed a large room, filled with tables and beers that looked like swamp tar, an empty beer glass came flying into him and smashed on his breastplate. Pravus was more surprised that a drunk dwarf could aim that well than he was at being hit with a beer glass. "Give me more be--" the dwarf passed out. Krain, one of the sargeants under the command of Pravus whispered to his ear. "How is it that the Dwarf civilisation is still around?" "What do you mean?" Krain simply pointed into the room and Pravus could see that there was almost a pile of unconscious dwarf bodies in the corner, so the other dwarves wouldn't trip over them and start a fight with a body. "I honestly have no clue, probably blind luck." In no time at all the majority of the army was on grass and clearing their nostrils of the smell of vomit, dwarven stout and dwarves. As the army passed the druids of Taverley, they were given potions that would help in battles and were also blessed in the name of Guthix. It was a great morale booster as most soldiers and guards followed Guthix more greatly than they did Saradomin, Guthix was seen by everyone as the God of order and balance and that was pretty much what all soldiers and guards wanted, to keep the peace between everyone. The army marched on without any problems and soon they were within sight of Varrock city, while not as clean a city as Ardougne or as well maintained as it either, it was still the second best thing to Ardougne, which was home to many of the soldiers. While many of the soldiers went to the castle barracks for a place to sleep, some went to inns and taverns and some went to relatives who lived in the city. Pravus made his way to the castle to talk to the King and ask for orders. He knocked on the door to the King's room and after no reply he was about to turn away, untill he heard sounds of struggling coming from inside, falling books, breaking chairs, the usual. Pravus unsheathed his sword and opened the door quickly and what he saw was quite a sight, the King fighting two assassins and holding them off. Pravus leaped across the room and dug his blade into an assassin's ribcage, killing him quickly. While the second assassin turned to see his partner die the King smashed him across the skull with a chair. A bit late, two castle guards came charging in with swords raised high, Pravus only just realised they were trying to kill him and he almost forgot that technically, these people were on the same "side" as he was so he shouldn't kill them. He raised his sword in time to parry the first guard's strike and quickly kick him in the chest, hurling him across the room, bumping into the other guard. The second guard looked down at his friend, when he looked up he had a fist in his face. Pravus only just realising he had punched a metal helmet, it did however knock the guard out... and break his hand. He looked up and saw the King smiling at him "What are you so happy about?" "Nothing, nothing."
  8. :D I hate the many thousands of players that have names like "Neo413" "pk4life" "iownyou167" I would rather have my current rsn than any name with a number in. That's just me though. I'll try not to write about players that much, but if I do i'm sure as hell not writing the average player names, i'll give them random names. --- "Commander Denulth, the trolls are fleeing from their stronghold, they are using secret escape tunnels toward the wilderness, should we pursue?" "No. Send a small squad of soldiers to help take the wounded and the dead back to Burthorpe, the rest of us will try and collapse the tunnels leading to the Trollweis mountains, the last thing we need is ice trolls coming in from the north to replace the mountain trolls." The soldier nodded and remembered something before he turned away. "Sir, there was a prisoner in the cells but he seems to have disappeared. He looked like a nutcase and probably won't get far but when I spoke to him he talked about a storage room containing many items, should we check it out?" "Wouldn't hurt, go ahead." The soldier saluted, ordered two soldiers to come with him and he descended the stairs. After thinking for a while about what the Imperial Guard is to do, now that the mountain trolls are no longer a significant threat he went to speak to the main body of the Guard. "Listen up soldiers, we all know of the ice trolls to the north and we all know that we don't want to fight another troll army. We need to find a way to collapse the tunnels." ... "Get to it then!" The soldiers all grabbed their picaxes and shovels from the backpack and went to work.
  9. Ok, I am writing about what would happen when a war across Runescape broke out between good and bad blah blah and blah. I will add more when I can be bothered so don't go up in arms when it has an abrupt (if any) ending. ---------- "Report." said the rather tired King "My lord, Ardougne is under attack from the south by the armies of Khazard and will not be able to send many reinforcements to Asgarnia or Mistalhin untill their city is safe. The evil creatures of Morytania are not crossing over the River Salve in great numbers but the ones that do require at least one third of the army. The city guard is easily holding back the bandits and other criminals coming south from the Wilderness. Luckily the dwarves of Ice Mountain are stopping any major threats from attacking us from the west, any that do pass through the dwarves are cut down by the barbarians." The captain finally took a breath. "What news from the south?" "A small portion of the army is garrisoned in Lumbridge, defending it from the occasional goblin raid, they are ready to march to Al Kharid and bolster their defences the second they receive the order... It isn't really a march though, more of a stroll." The King chuckled at the comment on how small the distance was between Lumbridge and Al Kharid, then waved the captain to continue. "The bulk of our army is camped to the east, near the River Salve as when the Morytanian forces do go across the river, we will need every soldier we can spare just to slow them down. The White Knights that are commanding the Asgarnian army have sent a third of their army to attack the Black Knights in a pre-emptive strike, they've sent another third to help the Dwarves and clear out the now hostile goblin village to the north of Falador and the remaining third is either in charge of city defence or lending assistance to Commander Denulth of the Imperial Guard. King Roald thought for a second about Burthorpe and the Imperial Guard stationed there. "Captain, how is the Imperial Guard faring against the trolls?" "They seem to be doing remarkably well considering the strength of trolls and the fact they're outnumbered, they also cleared Death Plateau of the troll camp and they are easily holding the small, rocky path to the Troll Stronghold, I wouldn't put it past Denulth to raid the Stronghold and clear out the Troll threat himself!" "And what word from Kandarin, or Brimhaven?" "No word from Brimhaven, best guess is they've been overrun by the many creatures that live in the Karamja forest. We are receiving little word from Kandarin, but they are doing well against the Khazard, while the gnomes are ready to aid them if the Khazard are too much of a problem. At the moment the gnomes are using their gliders to relay messages between the Kingdoms." "No real good news there... But at least there wasn't any horribly bad news. You're dismissed" The captain bowed and walked out of the room. Looking out of the window at his city he couldn't help but be annoyed. Annoyed at the improbably high amount of adventurers walking about oblivious to everything but their own greed. The best of any profession seemed to be an adventurer. Best warrior, best mage, best ranger, best craftsmen, best blacksmiths, best herbalists, best fletchers, best traders even! If only they would get off their adventuring behinds and do some good! Those thoughts weren't totally fair, many adventurers were renowned for killing the toughest and most vile creatures that could probably tear a hole in the walls of Varrock. "Reldo!" Within seconds of shouting his name, Reldo appeared at the door" "Yes, my lord?" "Tell the treasurer to start hiring able looking adventurers for mercenary work." Reldo nodded and walked off at a fast pace. ---- The battle was going well for the soldiers of Ardougne. Every where Pravus looked he could see corpses, many were riddled with arrows before getting near the pallisades but most were cut down by footsoldiers. "Pravus! We have suffered minimal casualties and the enemy is fleeing" "That's good, but I can't help but be suspicious, what would make the Khazard attack us? We greatly outnumber them and have the advantage of defence." "I don't know Sir, but it is happening all over the place, the forest Goblins are attacking human fortresses, small groups of bandits are attacking regiments of trained soldiers, prisoners are trying to kill the jail guards by biting through the bars. It's as if all the "evil" people and creatures are attacking at once" "..." "Sir?" "Nevermind. Tell the soldiers to get some rest, standard lookout shifts, it's unlikely that they will attack again so soon after a defeat, but we never know for sure." The soldier nodded and walked toward a large group of the soldiers to tell them. Pravus stood on the pallisade wall looking to the south, wondering how many more Khazard troops would throw their lives away at his small fort. There was something wrong. He didn't know what it was but he just knew, he ran toward the tents where his troops were sleeping and woke them all up. "All of you, get up now! Gear up and get ready for another battle!" The soldiers were trained well enough that they didn't make a single complaint to being made to fight again, not long after a previous battle. The archers went up on the platforms and the soldiers went into formation. After waiting 5 minutes, just standing there with his sword and shield raised, he considered ordering the soldiers back to sleep. At least, untill an arrow lodged itself into his shield. "Archers, volley!" The archers all shot into the darkness where they saw the arrows appearing from and judging by the shouts and screams they hit the right area. Aftew a few more volleys from the Ardougne archers, the enemy warriors could be seen, they were alot better equipped than the last wave of Khazard and they seemed to be an organised formation, rather than the mob that attacked them earlier, this must of been the elite Khazard. While many enemy troops got killed by the archers, there were still plenty left to be a problem. The Scimitars wielded by the Khazard clashed with the longswords favoured by the Kandarin army. While this wasn't the biggest battle Pravus had been in, they all seemed the same when you were in the maelstrom of battle, everywhere you looked you could see your friends fighting with the enemy, you couldn't focus on much else apart from the soldier trying to cut you apart so you had no idea wether or not you've lost, untill you get killed, or hopefully stay standing at the end of the battle. While they may of been "elite" by Khazardian standards, they weren't anything special in the eyes of Kandarin soldiers. Pravus easily dodged and parried and swiftly dispatched enemy after enemy untill he could find no more. This casualties for this battle were alot higher than the one he had been in before, while looking around at all the death he saw the face of the young luitenant he had spoken to earlier, lying on the ground with blood pouring out of a gash in his chest. Pravus felt sick, as did some of the other soldiers, while they put their friends into graves dug before the battle, as death was seen as an inevitability. How many more would die before he found out why good people across Runescape were being killed?
  10. It isn't really special but I think there should be veteran prizes from Jagex for hitting 100 or something, doesn't have to be a big whoop just a small reminder that you hit 100! Maybe a trophy you can have in your house.
  11. Time. I have had my account for 3-4 years and I'm maybe average, or slightly above average in some skills but it's because I don't put that much time into the game, I have seen people who claim to have played only several months and they are either as good as me or better. Even seen a lower level wearing a fire cape :/ There is some obvious skill required, finding the best creature to train on, seeing what monsters drop what valuable item, finding the emptiest mining spots, etc. For most players that have been playing a short while yet have become really good, they probably get help from friends (like the lower level i saw with fire cape)
  12. Favourite human: Guards because there is an infinite supply in towns so they're near banks so in the unlikely event you get badly hurt, you can always go get some food. Favourite monster: Black demons for the coolness!
  13. Here's my honest opinion on what to do with it. Keep it, try and get more money whenever you can. Buy the best items you can with the money. A few days after Jagex releases some new, rare item, you can buy it and be one of the first people to have the new, rare item! It's a lot better to show off than some silly little holiday item. In my opinion, you can never ever have enough money.
