Investigating the Wise Old Man
The black knight has been there for awhile, but is really interesting in relation to WOM. Father Uhrney is nearby and WOM mentioned him in one of letters. There's another rogue black knight right near Varrock close to Father Lawrence's church - WOM wrote to him as well, and also wrote to the Oracle, who is right next to the Black Knight's castle. Probably part of WOM monitoring them to pin the blame for the destruction of the Wizard's Tower on the Zamorakians. He's and Otto von Bismarck of Runescape, he is.

I was also thinking that those marks were just blood stains. Well, March is just around the corner. Hopefully at least one of our letters got answered.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I have to admit I'm stumped as far as what WOM's next move may be. If he wants to learn how to summon, the new tower is right there and he can just go wild...but he still wants to attack the other tower, so what is it going to be? I got the impression from the quest guide that the Life Tower was devoted more to Guthix. If he attacks the regular tower like we thought, and blames Zamorakians, it will bring down the wrath of Saradomin on the Zamorakians and vice versa. But if he attacks the Life Tower, Guthix-ians (whatever) probably won't do anything. And he wouldn't necessarily need to attack the Life Tower, he could just learn the way everyone else does and nobody would stop him.

Anyone know Visual C++?
I've got a large development program in C++ that's separated into a bunch of different files (.h files and such). I need to compile everything into one .DLL file yet I don't know how to do this in Visual C++. Any help?

I'm not nearly as reckless as they are. Wall running is my favorite trick. If I'm in a narrow enough alley I can get to the top of the walls easily (but not too wide, since I can't do splits  ) If I've got a lot of momentum I can simply jump to about my shoulder level on the wall and then get onto another obstacle nearby. I've been trying forever to do that run up the wall/backflip trick, but I think I'm too tall - I just can't tuck myself in. I use old matresses so I don't kill myself.

I free run a lot! It's so much fun, especially with a few friends. I recommend it to anyone who wants some form of fun excercise. I don't do splits, though. :P Wall running is by far my favorite free running method. To anyone who's interested, here's a vid of some Russian pals ( ) free running. They're awesome - especially Oleg (first kid)! Russian Parkour

Investigating the Wise Old Man
The symbol I saw was the sun-like symbol on the split rock. I didn't know the eye/masonic symbol was there too. I'll bet if I watched the flames later I'll be able to see the rest of them, too. I looked through the new quest guide and part of it said that there are things called "life altars" under the new tower. And, what are life altars without life runes? I think it's only a matter of time before the "summoning runes" get released and players can summon without the aid of the Life Tower. The new tower is probably some kind of introduction to the idea of summoning so players can get the hang of it before the real skill is released. That probably also proves that the 4 symbols are runes. Keep in mind that six is also the perfect number, as said by Clint Eastwood in another very famous movie (at least in the Italian version). We'll need two more people! "Six men, six bullets..." Hopefully Trobigod will bring information from the new quest. The guide also said something about summoning being a "dangerous power" reserved for the gods.... #-o Darn it, Jagex! WOM wants to become a god, too! It all makes sense! P.S. I'm guessing we're going for the same time as last week? I haven't seen the updated TET page yet, soo...see you there!

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I don't think Trobigod would approve. He'll squash you! Anyway, the John the Revelator's apocalypse is just worded less recognizably than other accounts of the apocalypse. Jagex's IS accurate, there are 4 layers/horsemen and they did the same things. It's just that Revelation's isn't labelled 'War' 'Famine' and all those...the actual names of the horsemen are more implied than anything. We're on the right track here, I think. Does anyone know anything about the new quest area?
-
Investigating the Wise Old Man
Thing is, there are several interpretations of the apocalypse. Jagex could be using any one of them. And do we have four hoursmen? I must have missed something... I was implying that our 4 layers of apocalypse didn't resemble Revelation's, e.g. they come in a different order and aren't explicitly labeled, and seem to be a little mixed.
-
The world might end soon. Maybe.
Yay for death? :-s

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Hmm...there doesn't seem to be much of a connection between Revelation's four horsemen and ours...

Investigating the Wise Old Man
I'm not entirely sure if they are implying that it is summoning or creation, to tell you the truth. If it is summoning, however, we'll have to send someone to investigate the Tower for any signs of the Wise Old Man having even a shred of influence there. If no one minds, of course. However, if there are four mysterious things hanging around this new Tower, then finding evidence of the WOM will just be to make sure... If anyone's willing to do some searching, also keep an eye out for any of the 4 symbols on the Falador stones. *giddiness* And heaping helpings of respect to 1alebcay for the cool sig!

Is this even possible? Amazing car defense system
Israel did that. It's just an electronics system that detects projectiles and shoots them down.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Since Trobigod did the quest already it's probably too late to use the diamonds again. Maybe we should employ another member. Looking through the map again to answer Xewleer's question about where the line in Morytainia goes, and I noticed that the Pest Control areas also have 4 portals that the 'pests' are escaping from. We've made a lot of connections in the game to the number 4 - is this another one? Could the 4 different types of pests represent the 4 layers of doom? @ Xewleer: The line in Morytania goes through something called The Hollows and through the entrance to some place labelled "Graveyard" on the atlas. Hmm...graveyards again? (Heh, only the people at the meeting would know what I'm talking about  ) By the way, Wenlok, it's curious that you have Lee Van Cleef in your avatar.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
OK our first meeting has concluded and we made a lot of progress: During Desert Treasure, you have to get 4 diamonds in order to free Azzandra from the pyramid. They are called blood, ice, shadow, and smoke. Each of these 4 diamonds represents one of the 4 layers of the apocalypse; blood represents death, ice represents famine, shadow represents war, and smoke represents pestilence. These 4 diamonds could possibly correspond to the 4 stones in the circle northeast of Falador. Also, Bob the axe-repairer in Lumbridge also has the ability to repair Barrows armor. Bob's house is right next to the Lumbridge graveyard, where the Seminarians were found by Father Aereck. The fact that Barrows armor comes from the tombs of the Barrows brothers, and that the Seminarians were in a graveyard could possibly mean that WOM was using his influence to acquire some method of building Barrows armor, using Bob for help. He would use this armor to supply his summoned army for the next God War that he wants to trigger (see page 31). We've learned during the meeting that while you're carrying the diamonds, you may be attacked by a level 91 Stranger random event with a dragon dagger super poisoned. We need to know who this stranger is and what he looks like.

Sure. :D

Famine might also be somewhere in the desert, which is equally as dangerous. That would make the sun rock the most likely candidate for representing famine. Death could be in the Underground Pass, maybe. But we already have death runes... Don't worry about the meeting lasting longer than an hour. If it starts getting close we can always have another one next week and pick up where we left off.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
Yes we will! Also, I noticed something new. At Aggie the Witch's house in Draynor there's a wall hanging with a symbol that looks identical to one of the four rocks (the swirlie one). Now we have 2 locations: The book on WOM's desk has a symbol identical to one of the rocks, Aggie's house has another. Where are the other 2 symbols?

Investigating the Wise Old Man
What Father Aereck saw the Seminary staff doing in the cemetery that night would be of much use. Hopefully some of our letters will get answered next month. All of these realizations occurring at once seems like a pretty weird coincidence. We make the great big connection of WOM to the next God War, then the symbols of the apocalypse. I just want to reiterate: The meeting tomorrow is 1 hour before the TET event is scheduled to begin, World 7, inside the Water Altar. Hopefully there's no confusion. Let's make a pact now: If the player's can't stop WOM and he destroys Gielinor and leaves a wasteland, then WOMDA will band together and roam the countryside fighting evil, like Mad Max.

Investigating the Wise Old Man
That's right...war, famine, disease, and death were the 4 horsemen. They came in that order as well; war first, then famine, then disease, and finally death. It's the same way in the stronghold. I'm not sure what that may mean. :-k

Investigating the Wise Old Man
So, if we are doing it an hour before the TET event, we meet at 7:00pm UK time I presume? Well, I should be there. Sorry, I misread the page. 8:00 PM UK time.
