  1. There are crazy people and idiots a plenty on both sides of the fence, we don't need to point them all out.
  2. You're not entirely wrong; McCain did vote with Bush 77% of the time - in 2005. [1] In 2007, last year, he voted 95% of the time in line with Bush. Note the figure includes votes in which republicans have strongly disagreed with the president, like with his immigration policies [2], so it's safe to say his views as of recent, are extremely similar to those of George W. Bush No, I wasn't stating that, I was asking for clarification. What does it mean for a single person to have a 77% approval rating of Bush?
  3. Danger, what do you mean, John McCain's support for Bush has been 77%?
  4. The world would be a better place with less Monty Python references. It's a great movie, but it's so over-referenced and over-quoted.
  5. There was an article in my city's newspaper today about how Olbermann and O'Reilly are dominating the political news, and how there needs to be more middle ground people.
  6. Apparently we're supposed to have an extremely harsh winter here in Michigan. Our winters are harsh by normal standards, I wonder what this year will be like.
  7. From what I see of it, it looks more like a hookah.
  8. I've seen that video, and god forbid a reporter that actually asks hard-hitting questions and she gets in [cabbage] for it. Biden's a [bleep]. There's a difference between asking tough questions and reading Marx quotes and accusing Obama of wanting to turn the country into a socialist one.
  9. I'm off topic here, but you must've gotten that from the late George Carlin. ;) Yes, some parts are directly quoted :P But it's still true. Saru, how is European society crumbling, and how is it past its prime? I want to know more about your opinion on this.
  10. That's what almost all arguments over concepts like this are. Both sides know full well that their opinions won't change no matter how long the debate goes on for. Not meaning to sound too condescending Saru, but why does your father's opinion matter in this?
  11. But you think you're better that us in those ways ;). But that's because many western/northern European nations do have better qualities of life, per capita incomes, etc.. Even if America did have the best of everything, it's the cocky, cavalier attitude that annoys people. Modesty is a good thing.
  12. I don't understand the American belief that their quality of life, education, social services, etc. are better than European countries.
  13. Changing whatever you had to "I like to see Americans hurt" isn't much better. That attitude is just as bad as the kind of people you're mocking.
  14. Jack, did you even read that post about the 4th of july?
  15. name him Batman Bin Suparman We're not all from Singapore :(
  16. I leave my fan on all day in my enclosed room in the summer. I don't think I'm dead...
  17. Did you read the Wiki article at all? The drug hasn't been shown to be significantly harmful to your health, and it certainly wont kill you on your "first dose." This assumption is based on only a single suicide case. It's highly unlikely that any considerable link exists at all. Why is this? The prohibition of salvia is a proposal that will result in far more problems than it's attempting to resolve. 1. You spelled my name wrong. 2. I didn't say any of that stuff...
  18. You failed to mention that it only has an effect that lasts about 10 minutes, or less. I'm not sure about legality really. From what I've seen, people don't try to do extremely stupid stuff on it, and they know enough to have sober people around when they're doing it.
  19. Oh, sorry Barihawk, I thought you were implying FDR was a bad president for not revealing his health.
  20. I don't think FDR should be looked down upon for his decision to conceal the fact that he had a wheelchair. He was president in one of the hardest periods of American history, and the American people wanted someone they thought of as strong. Even though it shouldn't affect that, he knew that it would undermine him if they knew. The media also had an agreement with him not to photograph him torso down. Heh, can you imagine today's media doing something like that?
  21. Finland is the country I admire the most in the world. I've noticed that this whole "he's a socialist" thing seems to be the main attack plan of republicans now, at least the ones I've met.
  22. I make a toast in the name of Lorenzo Romano Amedeo Carlo Avogadro!
  23. Interesting conversation this.
  24. Wasn't that for a much smaller population? I don't think the "Bradley" affect would alter the polls this much on a national scale.
  25. Yeah, I definitely recognize that too..
