  1. Oh, gosh. This is quite the topic -- but nice picture :P I mean I can understand why a profanity filter would make sense -- lots of other MMOs use one because, hey, it's supposed to be a social game and if your friends are fine with that kind of language more power to you. However, it really does depend on the community when it comes to whether a profanity filter should be allowed or not. Now, and I'm going to make huge generalizations here, if we were to compare a game that has a language filter like WoW (Or was it guild wars...one of those. Haven't played either in months) the userbase of the latter is usually far older than the average Runescape player because it's an expensive game compared to the cheap, free, browser based gameplay Runescape provides. Where a profanity filter works in WoW, because most players have the maturity to at least not scream obscenities randomly at people or to a crowd without halt (they realize no one's laughing just because their mouths are naughty), I'm quite sure the children of Runescape would behave in just the opposite manner, filling the chatbox with needless shouting just for the "epic win xD" of saying "bad words" and getting away with it. I also blame the huge influence /b/ has on a lot of Runescape members who should have nothing to do with 4chan. Seriously, even the Spirit Kyatt's examine was "fast cat is fast" for a while (They changed it recently.) although I doubt (I hope) some Jagex staff creator simply found the statement meme from another website. :P Too long; didn't read: A filter won't work because the community is filled with immature children and man-children.
  2. 1: This is called the debate club forum. It's an unwritten rule you don't use the word "Stupid". Grow up a little bit. 2. Yes, you'll have to sacrifice 4-5 essence to carry some food, so what? You don't NEED Potions, and i fyou do you can pot up BEFORE you enter the wilderness. I thought that woudl have been common sense, but I stand corrected. 3. If you retaliate to a normal abyss pker, they are going to run anyway.
  3. In my opinion on the subject, abyss pking is perfectly fine. When a pker attacks someone in the wild, they obtain a skul, not unlike the one presented to a runecrafter when the eager skiller travels into the abyss, correct? When a pker runs out of prayer and has no prayer pots, a pker is in the wild with a skull, and no prayer, yet they somehow magically survive, escape, even kill more people. A skull and 0 prayer do not a dead man walking make. It is not the end of the world and certainly no excuse not to have armour and a weapon. Afterall, the wilderness is an area of player versus player combat, and as such one who enters must prepare for such an area, skilling, pking, or not. In my opinion the line, the large gap which is player and game created, between skiller and pker is drawn far to wide, and far too long. It would be a better wild, a more alive wild, if Pking and skilling were one -- an afterthought of eachother and second nature to all who would enter. Imagine that fact. People going in with torags and a whip, a few sharks and such, and Mining rune, whilst pking Rune pkers and other miners who may be competition. Or, Rcers who would bring a whip, black dhide, darts, and the like to combat mages and meleers, sacrificing the most minute amount of runes made to kill and protect themselves (With prayer given from POH temples, which they SHOULD be using). Or, perhaps, Taking your harpoon, axe , and tinderbox and fishing sharks for pking food IN the wild -- which so far is so difficult to do I'd assume Jagex rather you not do it at all! Now, as not to drag on with my own conversation, i will adress the points you have made in the first post. I hope I get this Code right.. Rcers are not defenseless skillers. Rcers have just as much oppurtunity to take offense and defense as any pkers has. As such, it cannot be blamed on the pker for the skillers weakness, rather the rcer is fully responsible for his or her irresponsible choice in entering a combat area -- with implied and accepted risk -- without first preparing for the dangers ahead (and to have the AUDACITY to complain afterwards is soemthing I do not understand.) No skill can be as profitable at level 44 as Rcing, to my knowledge, and they DO have an alternate choice. They have to accept responsibility for their own actions. As I said before, the line between pker and skiller should not exist in the form it does today. Anyone should be able to attack (and anticipate an attack) from anyone else in the level range. Challenge is provided by both parties of a fight -- not just one. The rcer in most situations provides no challenge to the pker with his own decision. He was not forced to, not coerced to. He or she made that choice himself or herself and therefore should not be given aid just because he or she is not hard to kill. You have no courage if you choose to be defenseless by choice, and no hnour to complain of your own irresponsible decision afterwards. Thank you for reading my opinions.
  4. "MrOmnipotent" "Php my s q l" "Scammer Name" "Novanglus" "Nainsell" "Not Ironic"
  5. Zamorak Platelegs. 1.3 Million. Merchanting + Me = failure.
  6. I love this idea, and it is also apparent you spent a LOT of time on this. It's a shame the official runescape forums don't support pictures, I'm sure it would get a lot of response there as well, however I support very much and wish you luck.
  7. Veracs -- Although now I use obby set with Torags, and sometimes a warrior's ring.
  8. Yes, but any serious rcer wouldn't do that because time is always a factor. And loading your house/the extra, unnecessary teles all contribute to slowing you down and minimizing the xp/nats you make per hour :P Pretty good guide. I don't make my own planks, but for those who do, it's a good idea. Well, I'm not exactly a "Serious pker" by any standards, however I find it rewarding that I may recharge my prayer and heal myself with the larder -- thus enabling me to abyss rc with a whip. >:]
  9. Amazing! I never would have thought of that. Thank you for the tip. :)
  10. Are you suggesting that smithing died because we can't smith Barrows armour..?
  11. It's pretty irresponsible to go into the wild with nothing prepared for pvp, but it's downright wrong to blame someone else because you did. You htink being unarmed is some ticket to pass through the wild like it's candly land? No, you made the choice to take risk when you entered the wild.
  12. Tutorial Island as it is right now. Most of the players can't read anyway. That brings the case of bookcases as well. (No pun intended)
