  1. I read about it yesterday and got extremely excited for it, but maybe the sub title should be what the name is, and thats Bioshock Infinite, because the game has no claim to be the third direct iteration of the series, but rather an entire new setting for the series. There is also a question of whether or not the game takes place in the same universe at all. If it does, then it takes place before Bioshock 1 + 2, which in itself is interesting. I am ecstatic that the original Bioshock makers are developing it, though.
  2. Sure thing. I'm not sure if any of these patches will help, but they supposedly do fix a lot of random bugs. Also I'll include a Resolution patch so you can change the game to your computers native resolution. http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1075 http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=1273 http://www.nma-fallout.com/forum/dload.php?action=file&file_id=695 I don't suggest you both of the bug fixing patches, so back up your 1.2 [Caution: Executable File] and try these ones. The resolution patch can be applied after, but wait to see if you can fix these bugs first. Good luck.
  3. Thats weird. Did you just happen to wander into Mariposa, or were you instructed to go there? Did you already save the vault? etc. If yes, then I would suggest looking for unofficial patches by NMA/modders, and also making sure your game is up-to-date.
  4. Starting fresh seems to be giving them too much credit, imho they just modded BC2, which...is basically what this is. There is some good news maybe. Here are the confirmed fixes: Taken from the EA MoH forums. Its a shame that they won't put lean or prone in, I mean the freaking single player is going to have it. EA:LA should have done both the SP and MP, but I guess that is asking too much. What interests me the most is the "no mod tools AT RELEASE" part in this entire list. I hope that means they release modding tools so people can implement actual good fixes. Even with some of the positives, this game is still a piece of [cabbage]. I keep going back nevertheless to play around, but its a very bland and boring game. Very uninspired. I go back I guess because I still have hope for the game even though I know the SP may be the only positive aspect. I'm also pissed with all of the assets they reused from BC2. They reused the engineer skin, they are reusing static cover obstacles from BC2 (don't take my word for this, I just read it from an apparent EA employee, but even so it doesn't seem like bull [cabbage]), and pretty much every animation. Compared to the 3 seconds of single player I've seen from the trailers, the animations and mechanics looked so much better, its almost going to feel like two different games. I have to admit, though, the E3 build looked a lot better than the crap I'm playing now. I can only hope that these fixes will go in, including more customization in terms of characters and stuff, better hit reg and better game play mechanics in general. Even then, though, this game will suffer.
  5. Lol. There is no other thread for the older Fallouts [besides one for 3, which died a little while ago, but AFAIK there is no thread for the older fallouts), but nevertheless I was going to actually make this a Fallout general discussion thread and divide all of the information I can into posts and make an altogether discussion about all of them. Would be a good time. I have to work a midnight shift tonight, so when I get home 8ish my time, I'll be hitting the sack. Once I wake up I wish to make this into a general thread for Fallout and, of course, put more information of New Vegas and stuff. I think that you'll love Fallout 1 + 2 by the way, more so 1 at least, Fallout 2 had a little too much references for me but the modifications and other things in Fallout 2 were much more attractive. Those games alone are better than 3 IMHO, but Tactics was a little bit of a stretch for me, but I like it nonetheless. Hope you enjoy them, and I'll also advise you to pay close attention to the dark humor and antagonists and such, because many references are supposed to appear in New Vegas.
  6. Avatar: The Last Airbender was an American made cartoon that was influenced by Asian anime. It was never meant to be true to anime at all (scratch that, that was stupid to say) It had a lot of influence, but wasn't supposed to completely replicate anime, but rather have its own spin on the culture. Nevertheless, I do think they should have variated, but with what they got I think they did a decent job with the children in the cast, though it should have had more variation with races. In the show, The water tribe were more Eskimo; the fire nation was more white/Asian. The earth tribe was also a mixture of white and Asian too, and Aang and the other air nomads weren't exactly Asian either. They did a good job with the water tribe and Aang, but the fire tribe and earth tribe should have been done better. [hide]Though this was by no means a well written script, I went in with really low expectations and enjoyed it as such. The most disappointing part for me was the lack of comedy, lack of Aangs childishness, Uncle Iroh not being the fat jolly man, and Firebenders being unable to generate fire from themselves--only Iroh could do it in the movie--but in the series, they all could do it. They also mispronounced a lot of things, ike Agni kai and even Aangs name, once even Irohs name. [/hide] They should have done a better intro as well, but as I have all ready said, I enjoyed what I watched a little bit because I lowered my expectations a lot.
  7. Not yet at least. Then again, I think they'll have all of these missing features in the single player portion of the game because they aren't using the same engine or company. Looking at the single player trailers and I can see different animations and everything. So I hope Dice steals them and integrates them. But the New Medal of Honor fanboys that are obsessed with the game and defend it no matter what actually like how there is no recoil on weapons, no prone, and absurd hit boxes, among other things. They really need to address these issues, because although the game is pretty enjoyable its game breaking. They should also improve and balance sniping, because it takes forever to kill someone with a sniper rifle bullet and can be less accurate than a machine gun in long ranges. Its also kind of bad that sniper rifles are really good at no scoping at mid-close ranges in this game, which is usually the case with me. Also, no kill cam? To be honest, it actually fits well in this game.
  8. Unfortunately no. I had to shell out $60 in order to actually play it, and its actually not open to anyone just yet--only to people how have VIP status in Bad Company 2. Its open to people who actually just pay for it the 21st. I guess after playing it a bit more I enjoy it, but the two things I forgot to mention that kinda tick me off: no prone, and not allowing me to use the mouse wheel to scroll through weapons. Also, after playing it a bit more, you can see it is a console port to a PC; I used a 360 controller \and everything worked flawlessly, but I play PC to use my PC equipment. But even after the flaws, I know they will quickly fix these issues, but I know the core gameplay shall remain the same, which disappoints me. I did play a bit more and I am thus far enjoying it more before, they just need to fix a whole mess of things. This isn't really a beta or RC. Its more of what a closed beta or even Alpha build would feel like.
  9. Yeah, the beta is terrible, so I have little hope for the multiplayer. I'm just hoping the singleplayer won't suck as much. [spoiler=I Hope The Final Game Isn't This Disappointing]]My Main Problems: -So far its too reminiscent of Bad Company 2. I say this because: 1) It uses the same animations as BC@ (including regular jogging animations, sprinting animations, reloading animations, etc.) 2) It uses the same sounds and voice acting as BC2. -No recoil on weapons. -You can hipfire across the small maps and kill someone. -The weaon variety is thus far wierd. There are 2 sides: the operators (Tier 1) and terrorists, and you are assigned to one side each match. The design decisions after this are disappointing. Each side has a Rifleman, Spec Ops and Sniper class. This isn't the bad part. Where there are M16's (fully automatic at that) on the rifleman side on the operators side, the terorrists side have an identical weapon thats reskinned, repackaged and given to them: the AK-47. And so on with each weapon on both sides. So rather then allowing you to unlock each weapon individually, it does this. This game has great potential, I just wish Dice would make it less like BC2. Its kind of pointless that they used the Frostbite engine and then didn't even bother putting a lot of Destruction 2.0 in. They should have just used Unreal Engine 3 in that case. I just wish the underutilized potential was instead fully addressed...like if they redid the assets they took from BC2, tweaked the MP experience to make it a tad better and stuff. All this being said, it is a little fun, but its not worth $60 at all in its current state, which is why I'm thankful its beta. However, the chances of this evolving into something greater is really low at the current moment. Which disappoints me. I do wish it was better than what I wrote in the spoiler tags, though, and hope it does get better.
  10. Lets see...one of the latest games I got was WoW in a trial version, and haven't tried it yet, so I can't pass judgement. The game that I got the last was Medal of Honor (2010) in a preorder, and got the beta early 'cause of VIP to BC2, and... its horrible. It uses the same animations as BC2, the same sounds, some of the same lines in voice acting, some of the same voice acting, guns have virtually no recoil, and currently camping is the best tactic. Its pretty much a repackaged BC2 with killstreak rewards. Ah well. 4 months 'till release nevertheless. I'll keep...playing, though.
  11. I'm trying to get into the Veterans program right now, but whenever I attempt to register any of my Battlefield games it just says Entitlement could not be given. It annoys the hell out of me. But, yeah, the game is the best fun I've had since Modern Warfare, since the sequel made me want to never play an FPS multiplayer again on a PC.
  12. Updated first post with screen shots of the actual game from PC Gamer magazine.
  13. Definately, and it seems Josh Sawyer, the lead dev, told us how skills will work too: I'll put this in the first post as well, as its pretty cool.
  14. Updated first post with PC Gamer information, and all I can say is wow. A lot of information in the trailer is revealed in the magazine, and now everything seems a little more cognitive, especially finding out you are the on buried in the ground at the beginning of the trailer! The best part is thats only a little taste (Area 51 and the Hoover Dam anyone?) Anyway, enjoy, discuss, etc. Now theres a lot more to discuss, I guess.
  15. Like I said, Oscuro really did work out a lot of kinks in Oblivion and even balanced the game. With him on the team, this game will probably have a lot less bugs for sure. Then again, the Gamebryo engine is pretty erratic. But I have total faith in the future patches they will release, as they will most likely be worked on by the Obsidian Developers themselves rather then the other Bethesda employees. Speculation wise, I like your ideas Necromagus, though the same speculation is arising everywhere, and its quite obvious with the NCR soldier. As for New Vegas, it seems that it will either have some sort of Power Plant or it was never hit by the bombs in the first place (its most likely not the ladder, but the former). What I am more interested in is what they will put in the surrounding wasteland. I really, really, REALLY want to see some desert land, like the classic fallout games, and perhaps some scarce settlements. What I do know is if they decide to include the Hoover Dam, then it should be a dangerous area since its owned by the NCR. Also, if they decide to include things like area 51 for instance, then I hope they make it a little lore friendly and cognitive, in contrast to...Mothership Zeta. No doubt they will make DLC's...well, actually, thats up for debate, I suppose. I just hope that bring back old Fallout weapons too. Like the Bozar, for instance. And now, to conclude my post, it seems that information on the game itself will be released in PC Gamer, OXM, and PSM3. I'll probably be picking up the PC Gamer magazine myself so I'll be sure to update the first post with info, however I can't promise screenshots as screens usually aren't legal to rip from a magazine onto a forum. Also, If you want to talk to the devs, just go to the beth forums and they might reply. And last but not least, it appears that the cowboy in the robot in the trailer is actually Vegas Vic, which was a 1950's billboard cowboy on the way to Las Vegas. Pretty cool references.
  16. This is a thread that is more so directed towards Fallout New Vegas, but it would probably be more proper to have it be a general discussion on the series itself, rather than condense it into one game. I would, however, like to keep a general focus on the game because it will be coming out. I may modify this entire thread to make it a general discussion for Fallout if I can, but I need to work first, and thus I'll do it tomorrow [if I can]. Thanks. [spoiler=Fallout New Vegas Information]]Update (Already :P): Forgot to include these tidbits, which are pretty important! So I'll be quick. First off, the people who made the Bioshock Cinematics and others, AKA Plastic Wax animation, will be/are making the cinematics for this game. Also, the Oblivion modder Oscuro, AKA Jorge "Oscuro" Salgado, who is responsible for creating Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul, will be working on this game for bugfixing and balancing. Update 2: Pc Gamer arrived early for most of us, and fortunately it only contained a concept art photo (and I guess a few screenshots that I don't consider post-worthy, just look for it online if you're itching for screenshots), so the burden of posting screenshots is gone :P Rather than screenshots, there was a crap load of information and I'm happy to say that it sounds A-W-E-S-O-M-E! :D I was a bit lazy and didn't want to type anything direct from the Magazine, and luckily Ausir from the wiki put his up online, so I'm going to post the information via the post at NMA. Enjoy and discuss. Quick Update: From Josh Sawyer, the lead developer of Fallout New Vegas: Update 3: I have PC Gamer screens. Enjoy 'em. [hide] Directly from NMA. [/hide] Here are closer up and clearer pics, plus some missing concept photos not shown above: [hide] Directly from This site.[/hide] Directly from NMA Youtube HD Video - This video will cause high CPU usage, to view the video in a lower quality, please click here. Lower Quality for Convenience: Fallout: New Vegas is an upcoming spin-off game that has been in production for some time now. Its being developed by Obsidian Entertainment, who most notably made such games as Neverwinter Nights. What most people don't know, though, is that most of the people who founded Obsidian are the former creators of both of the Original Fallout games, and thus many of the original creators are going to be working on this (From the Fallout Wiki): Bethesda is publishing the game, and announced it in the London Showcase in 2007. For anymore information regarding the previous games in order to gain an understanding of this trailer, go to the wiki. The game itself will be using the same engine as Fallout 3 and will use the same combat, however it will have no correlation to Fallout 3. As it seems, New Vegas might have some new features, including a new Pip-Boy (Speculation only) called the Lil' Pip-Boy 3000. However, this is purely speculation on the communities behalf and I cannot say for sure, as the game will be released in Fall 2010, the same release month as Fallout 3. If you would like to contribute or anything, go here: Bethesda Softworks Forum: Fallout New Vegas General Discussion As to what I think, the game will probable see the return of a lot of dark humor and the old comedy that the former games had weaved into the story. Perhaps the game will probably have a lot of choices and endings as do the old games, and I'm honestly hoping for a little explanation in the Pseudo-Futuristic and untouched Las Vegas, but knowing Obsidian it will be good. I'm also hoping that this game will actually be good, as opposed to older sequals like Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel for the PS2, which most consider not cannon of the series. (Thus calling it Fallout: PoS; not to be confused with Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, which was OKAY in my opinion) Seeing how its a spin-off, I'm a little nervous, as spin-offs of the other Fallout games, like the ones I mentioned, were either okay or just plain wrong. Anyway, this thread should also be used for speculation purposes and to gain interest. So, have fun, don't flame, be constructive please.
  17. Apparently the multiplayer is supposed to represent the fall of rapture, or something like that. I won't be able to get the game until March, unless I'm lucky or decide to trade in some games. Nevertheless, the game looks promising. I just hope it is as good as it is perceived to be.
  18. I guess its the fact that people are paid the exact same amount of money for every different type of job, or perhaps its the fact that there are unfair laws within these countries that restrict people from doing anything in the first place. Its also the fact that we can choose our presidential power--well kinda, its moreover the rich people that ultimately decide who our president will be--in which case you would be right. You are also right that the rich control the economy as well. But again, its I guess a little better to leave the power in the hands of someone unrelated to the government. If it were up to the government, they would not only control the government, but everything within the society; I would prefer imperialism over a socialist country every day.
  19. How my über [developmentally delayed]ed republican parents think Fox News is the only station that tells the truth and they don't slander anyone... Seriously. I don't know how or why they think they are actually good. Fox News sucks...its untruthful to the extreme. Similarly, though, I think the media in general sucks, including the mainstream news channels. They favor Democrats and don't appeal to me either. Its all yellow journalism in my eyes... Another thing that bothers me is how Barrack Obama can't get anything done. For Christs sake, I know he just got into the presidency, but he cannot get a thing passed, even with the ENTIRE house being democrats. That's pretty sad, considering George W. Bush managed to get the craziest [cabbage] passed with barely any Republican support...Obama better show balls pretty soon and get something passed... Another thing...to me at the moment, he's a [kitty], and considering that I actually like the guy, its annoying watching him on TV every three seconds. He's either advertising himself or speaking to America about something. Both are pretty annoying. But despite these minor annoyances, I cannot stand every stupid Republican who thinks that Obama is a socialist who doesn't care at all about this country and wants to bring about the downfall of the United States. This includes my parents. Its freaking [developmentally delayed]ed. And even if he tries to bring about socialism, there will probably be an uprising or, hopefully, impeachment, provided he becomes a tyrant deuche. But the thought of just labeling him as a socialist pisses me off. Oh, and hippies. They piss me off, too.
  20. Are you getting that glitch where you can't fire the death ray or whatever its called? The death ray thing is a frickin' joke too. It doesn't even damage anything in the D.C. area, but the Death Ray appears to be shooting at the West Coast of California and the East Coast. But nonetheless its pretty useless to shoot it. As for the DLC itself, the story is what pissed me off overall. There wasn't a story. I wouldn't be surprised if someone modded Mothership Zeta and overhauled it completely to actually give it substance, and not make it feel like O:A. The things I had the most fun with was in fact the weapons, but playing on very hard with FOOK completely made the aliens insanly and god like. I had to use about 250 stimpaks to actually stay alive throughout the entirety of the DLC, and despite my extensive energy weapons skill in the 100', I was unable to damage the aliens as much as they did me. However, despite me using 250 stimpaks, I thought of the challenge as fun. Someone released a mod in order to be able to re explore the ship, but now that I have all of the unique weapons I still see no reason to return. And you would've thought they learned their lesson from O:A, or from making an amazing DLC like Pint Lookout. Its too bad, too. Because MZ was looking to be the best one. It just seemed like Bethesda hyped it too much, but I suppose that I agree with what some people have said: we hyped it, not beth. Even so, they should have delivered.
  21. Aliens have always been an easter egg type of thing since Fallout 1. They come to the earth probably to experiment on the remnants and to examine the ungodly amounts of radiation that was bestowed upon the earth after World War 3.
  22. I forgot you asked for recommended mods. I've actually concluded it makes the game run with less FPS, crappy load times, and many, many more crashes, all depending on what you have for mods. Enhanced weather used to cause FPS drops, for example. Usually, the modders try to fix their mods. But nevertheless, mods cause some problems, and add to the game. Similarly what Bethesda does with their patches.
  23. Well if you have it for PC (which I don't think you are one of them), hit the tilde key during that time and type enableplayercontrols. That will give your character the ability to move around for PC. As for X-Box, try either redownloading it or making sure you have the correct patch.
  24. Thats my bad--I mistook the Samurai Sword with the Katana. But they are basically the exact same thing, just with a different name, so I'm sure you'll be fine--just kill the samurai, no one will be mad at you for it, and you won't lose karma. Or you can reverse pickpocket. You can go back to the ship. You can go all the way back to the jail cells, the linear path from the jails to the engine room, and the doors that lead to the robot assembly line and stuff. But the catch is you can't go through the doors within the engine room--the basic core adventure of the ship--the doors become marked is inaccessible and refuse to let you through, even if you go into the console, click the door and type unlock. Its not a bug, unfortunately--its intentional. God knows why. Luckily, I've been fooling around in the GECK for a fix. I've found a couple of stupid scripts that bar people out, so I might have a fix that will allow exploration in the ship--but even then it might be a tad buggy, considering I'll have to do cleanup for every part of the ship. Now I can't remember if you're PC or 360, but if you're PC you might be in luck, cuz us modders are trying to fix that, like I said. If you're 360, then I think enough protests against barring you out will make Bethesda create a patch in the future. I'm confident Bethesda will listen, THEY will, but Microsoft is a different story. But anyway, like I said, I enjoyed it, in fact it would be my first choice of DLC--if the ship could be explored, and then if someone created mods that increase the size of the ship, plus allow you to build it. Like Oblivions Kvatch rebuilt, only you aren't cleaning destruction...Rather, making your own place. Plus, people would probably be able to add more spacewalks, in which case...*sigh*, wouldn't actually be a bad idea to discuss with my modding team. Our towers will be built by christmas for more enjoyment in gaming, perhaps we can mod a cool thing like that until we get those, then we can create something stronger... I guess the only thing to do is wait for your post and discuss. :)
