I cant get any spices until he tells me that he ate the stew, and he never tells me about the stew, so I can't get the spices.

I inspected him in the dining room before going to his moms house again, and I still talk to him and he doesn't tell me that he likes stew, I just keep saying oh nevermind. What do I do? Thanks
