took silverlight out of inventory, wearing shaade robe and shirt, still cant get in. Should I just have an empty inventory except waterskins?

I bought mine for $1.4M and I was wearing it and got a message about it degrading. What does this mean? Do I have to recharge it? Does it completely dissapear? When it degrades, is it not as good as before? Thanks

I have the seeds and used them on the holy water, I investigate the pond and it is mud, the guide says to call the native and he is supposed to tell me about a cave and a potion, but that doesn't happen, he just asks me about the seeds and fertile soil. What did I do wrong? Thanks
