Odd Tendency? Bank slot holder
I try to get at least two of *anything* that goes into my bank, because even though people can't see you have a 2nd xyz item, it'll always be in the same spot in the bank. Just came back this week or so after a hiatus that started shorly after the GE's introduction, so I've been hitting FoG, GoP, and all those neat additions for the goodies they offer (GoP seems a bit buggy, but ah well). Does anyone else try to get a "bank copy" of whatever they have? Working on some copies for some (g) stuff at the present :

f2p smither
If the data I quickly looked up is right: 291+4*177+232-1222 = 9 you'd lose 9g per superheat mith, not too bad

Whatever happened to channel "lightning"?
I took an extended leave from RS shortly after the GE came out, and a whole bunch of changes took place, and I was wondering what became of the chat channel "lightning" which I remember was the tip it channel.

FoG Irritation
Doh! thanks for the info. I thought the inactivity thing was changed to 5 min for some reason >.< Now that i know it's only 90 seconds I'll be a bit more aware. Performance wise my computer is fine. I merely turn off public to make it easier to spot targets and reduce distractions.

FoG Irritation
>.< I thought that at first, but I play FoG with public off. My computer also handles several other resource intensive online games without any issue. I'm starting to suspect it's just a miscued inactivity logout, but not sure.

FoG Irritation
Not a huge fan of FoG due to the decaying nature of the rewards, but one thing in particular really irks me. I'm merrily farming tokens for rc gloves, and twice, when facing a completely clueless opponent and building over 4k charges, I just get disconnected. Both times I was using the "meld into the center" strategy on very crowded worlds, racking up charges, sitting at high HP, when BAM, logged out. Needless to say rating drop and forfeiter debuff ensues. I'm not afk, as I'm constantly spinning the map to check for my opponent, so it just really irks me now >.

f2p getting 50 rc
Make air runes if you want to make profit, make earth runes for fast XP. Earth Runes + FoG Earth gauntlets are the fastest XP at your level I believe, but that obviously requires FoG participation/patience.

Curse
The magic dummies next to the mage tutor are definitely the best. You can cast in whatever gear you want over and over, and it's near lumby bank. *normally they give terribly magic experience, but that only applies to the damage xp component.

Druidic mage robes degredation
Is the degradation of the Druidic mage robe set solely tied to it's set effect? That is, assuming I don't die/cast bind snare entangle, it should stay fully charged? I've read some speculation, but no one seems to have a definitive answer posted. Thanks for your time.

Stat Spread/future growth & leveling
I'm a rather casual f2p player, and I was wondering whether it would be wise to raise my attack stat. While I don't really pvp, I did try to keep a spread which wouldn't leave me totally helpless. My strength is ~72-73, while my atk is 42 and def is 40. I did opt for prayer up to all the protection prayers, but no higher. Would more attack be good, or just unnecessary? I eventually plan to train my range more, but I don't know if range can outdo melee at the higher levels of f2p. Advice would be appreciated. PS I think my stat sig is broken, as those aren't my levels exactly >.<

Bank Space for F2P. Yay
As the GE will need time to stabilize, so far the best part of it for me is the insane amounts of bank space the boxing the sets have saved me. Being really careful about space, I now need to fill it up >.< Thoughts?

lock please
Having played a different MMORPG where there was both active person to person trading and a "mall" system. That system was where basically people had "stores" and placed items in whatever quantities and whatever prices they wished. Buyers access the mall via a search screen, where they search for the lowest 5 or so prices in the mall. In this case, each store functions as a new inventory/bank, but that was a moot point given infinite "bank" space. Basically, the economy is entirely controlled by supply and demand. Things that can be obtained anywhere, and at any time, become really cheap, while harder to obtain items fall but not as much. The buyer in such a situation usually has the advantage, but it all does depend on quantities demanded and supplied. My theorized results, as GE hasn't come out yet, is that prices will fall and arbitrage will recede though not completely fade.

Why do you prefer RS to other MMORPG's?
RS is just 1 of many games I play, and not even the only browser based game I play. I play because it's rather unique in quite a few ways, and because I'm a cheapskate.

UNoffical Tip It Clan Chat! Join Channel: Lightning
It gives me something to do/read while mindlessly training on flesh crawlers (Hate most private chatting). Waaay too fast paced though. Reminds me of world 1 merchanting at times.

Where can I get: red gloves? (in f2p, where do people sell?)
Thank you all. I went to varrock west, and after a few world hops, presto!

Where can I get: red gloves? (in f2p, where do people sell?)
I know they are sold in canafis, but I'm f2p. I know people regularly sell them in f2p. Is there a specific spot where they usually are sold? Ie like behind varrock west or something like that? I ask because I'm looking for 2 pairs of red gloves, yet am unable to find their typical selling location. (I used to just give away gloves people dropped because they gave no good stats....silly me)

Why is Full Guthix significantly cheaper?
The armor is of the same rarity, represents a god or runescape, and of course has the same stats. Why is it significantly less expensive (than say zammy or sara)?

Dealing with Finite Bank Space
Alright, here's my two cents. I'm f2p, and have been since I started this game as a joke 6 months ago. Bank space would be nice, of course, but I really don't think about it at all, as I only was short in the beginning, when I would stockpile numerous different items for skilling and merchanting. At the moment, I think (Rather tired and would rather not have to log in), I have ~6 to 8 spots left. I would consider myself a fairly average player. I have enough cash in the bank to not really worry about being poor, I have fairly decent skills etc, but what matters to this topic is what items I have, and how that relates to bank space. The attached image is my current bank, and it has been more or less like this ever since I discovered that space is finite. As you might be able to tell, I have a lot of superfluous stuff already. Even so, I still have space to spare when wish to skill, mine to sell, merchant, or player kill. I can start to train nearly any skill using what I have already in bank, and have enough space to be flexible. If I want to smith, I have room for ores, bars, and even a piece of armor or too. If I wish to pk, I have room to store strength pots, lobsters, loot, etc. This brings me to what I'm trying to get across: 1) If you can get it easily in the number you want, don't bank it. (Yes yes i have unnecessary stuff, but I have room to spare at the moment) 2) As sticking to 1 thing is often the most efficient use of time, you can rotate what fills your open slots depending on what you are doing. Complete one task (within reason) use up the materials you have, and then do something else. 3) Even if you can't necessarily just get it from the general store or an npc shop, it doesn't necessarily warrant a spot if you will use it very very rarely. (I used to have a mind tiara-takes more than a few seconds to assemble-but as I only practically craft airs, I gave it away) 4) Random event stuff will eat up your space *really* quickly. You must decide whether it is worth it, as the clothing gives no stats and is monetarily worthless. 5) Unless you are stockpiling, try not to keep a plethora of raw materials, even while skilling. Coal and iron -> steel bars. Try not to have all 3 things at once. Other random bank tips: 1) Placeholders are good 2) Organize it in some way, so you can easily assess your stockpiled worth 3) Leave some open space for the sake of flexibility

Is misspelling of words a crime in RuneScape?
Intentionally misspelled words in large quantities are the most annoying, as it leet. However, I do not see a problem with some things. I am rather quiet usually, so rarely do I ever say more than "gf", "lol", "cya", "g2g", "np", and "ty" in public. I use proper spelling and grammar if I do with to speak in a matter to convey a meaningful idea, but usually for the sake of convenience, common abbreviations are fine in my book. I use AIM and google chat often, so that skews my views, of course.

Do you use sarcasm in RuneScape?
Generally all I say outside of pm chats is "gf" or the # level of x skill, but I do often get annoyed at beggars. Very annoyed. Often, if I'm in a crowded area gathering something (like salmon fishing near Edge), there is usually someone begging for this or that. Them: Can I have free fish? Pl0x? (To the fishermen or whatever nearby) Me: Can I have free Ahrims? Please? Pretty Please? (I like Ahrims, but never plan on getting them) Most informed people nearby get a good kick out that.
