  1. burners are definitely worth it. If you don't use them, your going to need 10-20% more bones since the exp is lower, and since its 70 pray, that can come out to quite a bit. If you have the gilded altar in your house, just bring 2 herbs each trip, and it doesn't really drag down anything exp wise, not to mention if your speed training, so you tele to house, then to edge etc.

Yes, Runescape has, like everyone predicted, pulled me back in, and i guess I'm here again :o

I gotta hand it to Sparky though, he kinda pulled me in with his epic GWD luck and I kinda wanted a bit of that too, so...

Thanks to my friends at #gwda and all those who have stuck with me even when I was gone for awhile. You really are what keeps me going. Not to mention everyone here at Tif. I still believe that this is the best Runescape fansite ever made. :D

    Thanks for you time.

  3. The reason why people consider it a noob 99 is because they think that it is sorta like cooking, and fletching where you buy what you need and do one or two different thigns till 99. In fact firemaking is just that however it does take quite alot more focus, and you can't "AFK" train it, like watching TV while fletching. This is because you need to click every log with the tinderbox.

Not to mention I don't consider any 99s "nooby" since I have gotten 99 Fletching back before the "string X" option, so I had to click every bow and string to string em. Only AFK part was fletching the logs. But even so, the time and effort you spend makes any 99 skill highly valuable, and makes the cape you wear show your hard work and effort put into the skill.

  4. Well I did read your whole post, and for some reason, I do agree with your idea in someways. The main reason that combat usually produces the high end items is because most skills are in-fact assist skills to combat in a sence, and usually every skill is tied to combat. Fishing supplies food, runecrafting supplies runes, etc. Now, the way you describe combat being like a process, and spending 6 hours at a boss monster and achieving a good drop, and then using skills in a similar manner to create a high-end item looks good in theory, but when put to the test never comes out the same way.

I believe combat is the main way to deliver items in the game is the best way simply because of the unknown outcome. People can spend weeks, even months at a boss monster, killing it with teams, and never receive a single drop. However, on the one lucky note, the person could score a break, and get a rare drop, and make a good lump of cash.

Then there is skilling, which almost always has a 100% chance of profit depending on which skill. So while combat may take long to reach a point where players can attempt the rarest of drops, the skillers have a steady income. If a high end skill based item was released, it would most likely be a 100% income based method, and a 100% chance of that item being released into the game.

If its a little difficult to understand what I'm saying, as I did word it a bit odd, then consider:

    Runecrafting v. GWD Hunting

Runecrafting turns out an automatic profit, but GWD hunting is never a definite money maker. Some trips can be dry, and you can lose money, btu when you hit a really good drop, it can beat out skilling profit by a large sum.

    Now consider:

If runecrafters could create a (not real) Rune gauntlet which are worth more than a pretty penny, then chances are that it would be a definite creation if it is completely skill based. It may take a little work, lets say about 2 hours, but when completed, it could be sold for much more profit than runecrafting those 2 hours. And, it would be a definite boost, while Combat never receives a definite reward. Not to mention if the item is very valuable, than everyone with the required skills would make it non stop until the price wouldn't match the effort. This would be caused by oversupply of the item.

So in conclusion, the reason combat is used for high-end items is because it makes the item a rarity and never reaches a point of oversupply (for the most part)

The only way I could see a skill-based high-end item would be if you could only make 1 per day, and it would take an extremely long time (such as mandatory pauses while the item cools, grows, forms etc. ) otherwise the item would be rushed through for production and sale. But then this would make a low supply and huige demand, and then a giant price tag. So I really don't know how it could be implemented, but it does sound like a pretty good idea if powerful items made without combat.

  5. Many people have already said this. Oh, and AGS is the most useful for solo PvP.

Not really, I think using a SGS could be more useful, for healing yourself, and adding some Prayer points.

BGS could be better for draining your opponent's stats.

ZGS could be better for running away, or fighting with mage/range/helbard.

Not to disagree, because I too do not think AGS is worth the huge price tag it has, but since I have owned all 4 godswords, I have tested them out in multiple places, and AGS is quite useful. The AGS has a spec that uses 50% of the bar. That means it has two attacks that can do 25% more damage which is quite amazing.

Imagine on boss monsters, two high damage hits can ruin even the toughest of the GWD minions. Even players can fall to a 2-hit KO. The only reason is that it is not always certain to hit high. You could hit nothing with both specs and then your pretty much done, as the sword is too slow to really put up much challenge in a fight against, say, a whip. The increased speed will destroy you before you can hit them.

The other thing is that The AGS is just like every other godsword. It doesn't have any overwhelming stats, and once the special bar is gone, its pretty much just another godsword that costs 20m more than any other godsword.

  6. I have not tried the claws, since I do not play anymore, but from what people say in IRC it still seems they are a great weapon, so they haven't been nerfed, but, if they really are as good as people tell me they are, then chances are Jagex, will nerf them somewhat.

They can't let one weapon get extremely powerful, so unfortunately, it probably will.

(My opinion, from the past, I believe this)

  7. Honestly I would just say its your computer being idle for awhile making it go into the screensaver, and then when you start it back up, most of the computer's RAM is probably hibernating to save power. Try checking if you have any power saving options on, like turning off hard drives, memory after a certain time limit.

  8. Probably was in my school last year. Some sophomore was talking alot of trash about one of the juniors in my class, and he really didn't like it, so he started saying stuff back.

One second the hall is fine, people at their lockers, then like 5 people just start beating down each other. One kid got knocked right in the face turned to fall, and slammed right into a door handle. One kid got punched in the face, and his nose busted open really bad. The one kid who started it all ended up getting beat so bad, he had to go to the hospital to make sure he didn't have head trama. I saw him get hit 3-4 times hard in the head, so I knew it was bad. Even then it didn't seem like a huge fight, but I heard there was another one between the two kids' friends later in the day, but it wasn't as bad.

That is probably the worst fist fight I've seen, but My school is pretty bad, and I've seen points where it almost came to knives and bats in fights. It always ends up getting broken up quickly though.

  9. Honestly I don't know if it will come out, since almost all the evidence we have is simply speculation. Unless they have a really good hint about sailing, then I probably won't believe it until they say it in some news post or something of that sorts.

Again, the picture on the banner may have simply been a picture to make people coming to Runescape look, and say wow, since a websites appearance is one of the things that drags in new customers. It may have been from a quest scene or something like that as well.

  10. The effect is always random, you can go many attacks without healing, and then other times heal 3-4 hits in a row. As long as you have all 4 pieces of the set on, it will always have a chance to heal regardless of other items you have on. It is not a definite thing and so it may just be unlucky you haven't gotten the healing hit. Just keep on trying, you will hit a healing hit eventually.
