May i please play "Runescape"
Sure i can handle some criticism, yet simply because i have missed some sarcasm, and that you simply do not care about what i'm saying, you are calling me immature, not my age, and piratically pathetic. I have not ranted, specifically because it's not a huge issue. At no point am i calling them jagflax, or whatever you assume noobs do. I'm simply not like that. Because you don't care about something, does not mean it's a stupid statement. So, i can say i don't deserve harsh feedback. Like this? It's a failed skill imo, it shouldn't be up there. That's the problem with topics like these, it's a subjective matter but people act like its fact. "Why would you even think to not keep it up" etc etc. *sigh* personally, the dungeons are ugly, as is the outside of Daemonheim. So I wished they'd change the main page, and login page if only for those reasons. As he said, it's subjective. I am not going against daemonheim, as unlike half the population, i like the skill with all of it's mini-game qualities. You may have the opinion you do not like it, you may have the opinion that you do like it. What i am SIMPLY trying to say is that i don't like seeing it called 'dungeons of daemonheim'. For that is not runescape. It is a small section. The wallpaper/banners, they are awesome artwork, they can change they can stay, hell, i want it as my wallpaper. That's the issue I'm trying to make a point of. If you do not care about it. Sure say that, but there is absolutely no reason to troll or flame me because you think anyone that disagrees with jagex is a 12 year old brat. The last thing is, you can't call me stupid or question my age because i do not understand certain sarcasm. That may mean i'm thick. HOWEVER, just because your educated in 'mature gaming speak', Or whatever the title is you'd like to please yourself with, does not mean others are. I can debate against you quite fine against some dramatic play, or why restaurants are failing in recent times; that's because i'm suited to that genre. I'm not someone who knows 110% of the gaming world, and i do not pretend to be. So instead of flamming me, can you actually relate it to the topic.

Actually .. he made fun of you .. what was that .. "17 years old and not being dumb" ? Yeah i picked that up. Again, no need to insult. What you learn from browsing the Internet. Is the older the users are, the more of a smartass they become. Just because you are older in age, does not make you the top dog.

Clearly you don't understand what sarcasm is. I hope you know, some sarcasm actually relies on you know the person. I have no idea who Omali is, i've only seen his profile a few times. As with that, i don't know how he normally posts. From what i say, i could say he's easily gone over the top because he has a grudge against jagex for ruining the game he loves. Regardless if i have missed sarcasm. I'm still trying to give a point across and your recklessly flamming it because you do not care. Common politeness is to give constructive feedback. Rather then abusing the writer. I can see what the original posters were saying as it's not a big issue on these forums. And no, i do not care about a stupid pixle on the end of a whip. I'm not that low. The point is over advertising of the game. I'm unsure how much of you have actually looked into it, but Jagex have given an incredible amount of advertising for this update. With little to no publicity about other updates that have happened. If your just going to flame me because you don't care what Runescape looks like, or Jagex's intentions with the game. Please just leave the thread.

To those flamming me, thanks.... Although there was some defence from Omali (i may be 17, but i'm not some stupid kid-.-), he made the point i was trying to make. Sure the artwork is lovely. I realise that, i even stated that the splash screen looks better. It's the title it's given "Dungeons of Deamonheim". That's not runescape, i play Runescape: 24 other skills and over 160 quests with hundreads of locations to explore. It's more than just a large dungeon. I like the examples Omali gave. Those other MMORPG's aren't given a special title because of an expansion. Sure they have that name, but that's for commercial purpose (similar to what jagex is doing) to sell the disk. After that inital sale, the game is still called World of Warcraft. People play that. They have the added bonus of The Lith King, or w/e is inside it, but it's not the entire game. JUST like how deamonheim is not the entirety of runescape.

I still think it's nice to get 'a' response.... It may not be a major issue, but generally the cover of a certain update (goblin ending for example) is removed after a month or so. Sure it's pretty (looks better on splash page imo >_> ), but i personally don't like the title. Gives too much of an expansion feel. The expansion feel, comes from the amount of publicity jagex have put into it (I have seen more articles+reviews of deamonhiem then anything else in "Runescape"). It's just getting too much attention, to me anyway.

May i please play "Runescape"
Posted this on the RS forums, but i think i'll get more of a response here; seeing as though Jagex killed that forum. Just in response to Deamonheim. It's currently been about 35+ days since the release of it, along with the skill dungeoneering. Regularly, skills only have their special log in screen/main page for the first "2 weeks" of release, it's been about 5 weeks now. And still i am playing "Runescape-Dungeons of Deamonheim". I am not ranting that it "Must" be removed, for dungeoneering is not that bad, people tend to give up earlier on something which they do not have a positive attitude of to start off with. What i am saying, is that, the original hype over the release of the skill, should have faded by now; and by no right, even despite it's large size of a skill, should not be the face of the the game. Jagex have noticeable advertised Deamonheim exponentially since it's release, for it is basically the better runescape, only dwelling in the dark undergrounds of a castle. I'm all for having deamonheim a special part of the game, but why exclude the massive entirety of the rest of the game? Fairy Tale 3 has passed (the ending of the trilogy), with no special wallpapers or homepage banners; which the ending of the goblin series did. You may argue FT3 was not large, but it was indeed a special occasion; the ending of something is always meant to be special. So wrapping up, dear Jagex, could i please play Runescape - Adventures in Gielnor? Rather then Daeomheim.

More Farming Suggestions
What i'd like to see with farming, is more use for the produce it makes. Like, what exactly do you use tree roots for? Only magic roots are used, and that's for a single necklace. The rest are pretty much compost. Fruit: Apple- no one needs Banana-only need if your planting higher level fruit trees (so creates a paradox). Plus there's the banana plantation Curry - Does anyone make curry? Pineapples - So much easier via stores/karajma Papaya - Far cheaper+more quanity via fruit bats Coconut - The only one where you MUST get from farming, and it's undervalued due to herblore being so expensive in the first place. __ So yes, that's basically what farming is cooldog08. If you've got any suggestions, i'd love to hear them. I'd like to make an entire new 'farming guide'. Although, will be unlikely to be released, i'd like to see what can be imagined.

More Farming Suggestions
Hey there, here's some farming expansions that i thought would be helpful, and would GREATLY expand the current farming. Which stops at level 85 (level 95 in Daemonhiem; although, there's absolutely no use for it in the real Runescape). This isn't finished, and is basically a rough idea of what i'd like to see in Runescape. Post your own suggestions and i'll add them as i can!. ___________________________ SPECIAL LOTS Elder Trees - Of course, a play on the "evil elder trees". These are a special allotment tree Level 85 Grow Time: Two weeks (336 hours/20160 minutes). Time could vary about 4 hours. Extra grow time happens if you don't follow the farming guidelines. Seed: One of each of the current tree saplings (oak, willow, maple, yew, magic). How to grow: The tree patch is very large (4x4 square) and has brown weeds (something to resemble 'old'). You must have all 5 tree saplings in your inventory in order to plant it. Using 3 buckets of super compost is a nessessity. Without it, the tree will require an additional day to grow (one day for each missing super-compost bucket) Normal compost will not work, as the soil is too pure/ancient for it to have any affect. Alternatively, creating an extreme, concentrated compost (below) and using '1' bucket on it, can reduce the grow time up to 36 hours. Protection Cost: 5 magic pyre logs, 2 yew tree roots, (suggestion for a 3rd item?) I chose yew roots in order to give these high-level roots some use Protection Person: Elf or magical in tuned npc Location: One would be located in the elven territories, possibly in Idsfar, alternatively, near the magic trees south of the elf town (one you can teleport too :-X) Uses: These work in a similar manner to the evil trees. These trees supply a random array of logs (ranging from normal-magic). If you have any suggestions for further use, post EXP: Around 120k-160k for the 2 weeks worth of growing. FYI: IF you grew a new spirit tree every 3 days; in 2 weeks, you would gain about 90k farming exp for the 4.6 trees grown. ___ Spirit Trees - More accessibility Level 83- Can plant one Spirit Tree level 92-Can plant two Spirit Tree Level 98/99 - Can plant in all three Spirit Tree Patches Seeing as though the seeds are technically already buyable via Vine Sweeper, they should have some option of selling/trading these seeds. Especially for those players who obtain them from birds nests and have no intention of using them. So: Either making them tradable via players, or sellable to a particular gnome for a large price due to their 'rarity'. I was thinking around 499k each. ___ ALLOTMENTS/FLOWERS Another "patch"- Vine wall. used to farm grapes Grape Vines You can make these in a quest, so why not in Real Runescape farming? The quest where you actually pick them (name of quest please?) is a requirement, and is how you learn to farm them. These should be a mid-level plant (allotment/speical) with no protection ability Red Grapes - Same as quest (i think that's around level 36) Location: All allotments , A long line, possible adjacent to the compost bin (to not get in the way of regular farming) White Grapes - Level 61a White Grapes should not be confused with white berries, these as a grape, are an alcoholic bonus. When added to Breweries (the big chunky things that make skill boosting beers), to boost the strength of the beer. All beers will be matured (if they actually live), and you have a chance to get (sm) beers. They boost the relating skill by an additional 1-3 of the mature beer. ___ Allotments: Use for strawberries+watermelon. Both can easily become part of a fruit salad!? Strawberries themselves are a pretty cool healer (a basket of them heals 250LP), so having them as a cooking thing would be good. ____ TREES These are hard to add, as the only high-levelled tree known is an elder tree. Those are inappropriate to place in a normal tree patch, simply because they are 'elder'. Which means, they should be a decent age; which i have suggested as two weeks. If you have any suggestions for trees above level 75, please tell. How about all those other random trees you see in runescape? Name: Alchey Tree Level 24 Use: To cut alchey logs in order to make arrows/bows for chompy bird hunting Name: Cursed/Undead magic tree Level: 94 Use/Requirements: Idea is shifty, but something similar to the magic/cursed magic tree found in the wilderness. Which is found/used via Jenna's Ring (Spirit of Summer quest) Name: vine Clump level: 72 Use: Exact same as the Ivy Vines found on walls ___ FRIUIT TREES (could literally be any type of frut, that grows on trees): Mango - Level 77 Exp for checking: 15k exp Protection cost: Suggestion? Peach - Level 89 Exp for Checking: 19.5k exp Takes 3.5 more hours to grow (so appropriately 17,5 hours) Protection cost: suggestion? ___ HOPS More useful hops, and a better way of making beer (to increase demand of hops) [To be added] Random ideas: These stop at level 28! These are baby plants, despite that the allotments are meant to be the 'baby' plants. So, here's some further ideas for them. Names are completly random. Name: Red Drops Level: 40+ Use: Can be used to male the ale/beer, 'inferno bites', which is a fire-making boosting drink. Name: Wardonian Level: 55+ Use: Can be usd to make the ale/beer, 'frantic splasher', which is a runecrafting boosting drink. Name: Elviarian level: 70+ Use: Can be used to make the ale/beer, 'lightfoot stormer', which can temporary drop your overall weight (works like anti-fire potion with a timer), in order to run longer __ COMPOST & Disease rates: First off; i think jagex should publish a litteral percentage sheet of how large the chance is for your hops/plants to get Diseased with/without compost. So is it you have 60% chance to become Diseased without 40% chance to become Diseased with regular compost 20% chance to become Diseased with Super Compost 5% chance to become diseased with Extreme/concentrated Compost Extreme/Concentrated Compost: I've used this a few times, but this is possible. This should require at least 50 farming in order to make/use. This is also untradable. 2 suggested ways to make: Same items as super compost; except they require a magical enchantment, or an extreme compost potion to be used on a full box of super compost. The other way is: Using only very high-level items (magic-elder tree roots, (refer to new fruit trees, fruit) or dwarf weed/Torstrol. ___ OTHER UPDATES: I think farming should work in the same way woodcutting, mining and fishing work; as you level, you gain the object faster. Having a better 'tool' also, helps you gain the object faster. In terms of farming. Compost is the tool, and i've added my own suggestion on that above. With levels, by level 50, you should not ever, or, very rarely be able to have a 'potato allotment' die. For example: At level 99, with the current plants, a normal player should have a much smaller chance of things dying. Snapdragons, for example should not die by level 99. Compost will only affect the time it takes to grow, and how many herbs you gain from it. ____ This is my current set of suggestions. There's plenty more suggestions that could be added. So please suggest them. I'd like this to become a community thread for farming. So everyone will be suggesting different changes, and i'll be added them to the list. I'll try make this thread more attractive in due time.

You mean cleaning the herbs? I thought you didn't get experience for only putting the herb in/changing the doses.

Maging in daemonheim
This has gone to the 3rd page. But i want to say thanks. Thanks for those tips. I wasn't going to only use mage, cause it would take time to find a farming patch at times; but i did word my thing badly. that clan chat you told me should help. My friends aren't exactly that high of smiths (best is level 80). So, i should get a high-leveled staff instead of getting some form of armor. Ok, so two weapons. Look for curse bearer. Hey um, can you get staves on lower complexity levels? Just wondering cause they can go much faster then complex 6. yeah, will try and save the invent space. I can't always find something suitable for a bob familar (either no charms or no bags). Thanks for the help.

What are combination potions?
Like the title says. In the skill calculators; there's an option for 'combined potions + mixes'. These are barbarian mixes, and i can't find it anywhere in their skill guide. So can someone please tell me what they are? And how i can make them. Thanks.

Maging in daemonheim
Hey hey. I'm currently 56 dunge. So i can bind two items. Here are my combat stats: 83 attack 83 strength 84 defence 78 range 72 prayer 82 magic I also have a goronite maul (teir 9) and 60 katagon arrows bound. My current thought is to become a pure mage. This is after owning the purple demon guy with a mage pot+fire surge. Here's my current idea on how to do so I can make upto a strong magic potions (69 herblore) and have 93 farming, so i'll farm either the tier 2/tier 3 herb that makes magic pots (both make my level go above level95 magic). Also, i am aiming to get my runecrafting level up, so i can craft death runes (1 level to go). Now, if i were to get a large amount of blood runes to bind them, how well do you guys think i would go with just my maul (or if i manage to get a spear/better weapon, that) and possibly a high level staff? I'm really considering this, because i really want to vary my attack styles (especially considering since i only have a maul). Does anyone have any other alternative options though? Something that would be better for 'me'?

POLL: Which skill would you next like to see an associated guild released for?
I don't know why people are picking slayer.... Jagex's attempt at that was kuradal's cave. So they practically have it, i dought they'd consider trying for another 'slayer guild'. I'd like a farming or smithing guild. Smithing could do with something fun involved. And farming could do with some further activities/patches.

Tip.it Times 2 May 2010
Gezz, i support you. I hate the completely random point deduction myth >< @Dungeoneering one What i already say myself, What people need to learn is exactly that; it's new, it will get updated. As for it getting a 2nd patch like summoning, i'm pretty sure Jagex actually confirmed it was happening, just will take a little longer for it to be finished :-/. Poor level 99 dunge nerds.

Nomad is a good guy?
lol wut? we have no indication of this. I guess so, yet I can't see any reason why he is not. I can't see a human being as powerful as he is (i.e. not having 36 saradomin brews to chug). And as far as other races go, something from somewhere we haven't seen is the only possible place. The mahjarrot are from another place, aint he as well. They can take any shape, have a liking to violence. Any my last thing is, how can someone that isn't a mahjarrot have such a bad reputation with a mahjarrot (We aren't a problem to Lucian, and we're still strong (ish) )

28-April-10 Buyers and Cellars (and Thieves Guild)
How is it possible to get that much thieving exp? Your capped by your thieving level. Higher thieving level=can get more hankies. More hankies=more changes to pickpocket. Additionally to that, it's a one off. Once you get your max, you have to give them to one of them for your bonus exp. So at best, you can do twice (for this week). However, you can do the chests as many time as you want.

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
When did they let you buy seeds at the smuggler? Thought you could only buy shrooms + poatoes from him? As of today's update. Also summoning no longer requires pouches and shards, so you can make familiars with only the charms monsters drop and the resources, so no more running back to smuggler EVERY time you want to summon something. So the other obelisks actually have some use now. I really like the seed update. Before if a door required a higher level than you had, and no monster dropped seed or herb, you were SOL. Now it's at least possible as long as you have the farming level to farm the herbs and the herblore level to make the potions. Yes seed drops are pretty pointless now because seeds are pretty cheap, but honestly before this update 90% of the herbs I actually used were just straight herb drops since seeds seemed way too rare. This will increase the amount of farming and herbing I do down there significantly. Edit: Just went to ToG. The message is "You feel the mysteries of Daemonheim unravel" when you get the exp. So um... this is seriously the only dungeon intended to ever be tied to dungoneering? A little stupid. Might as well call it daemonheiming. And considering i'm a high-level farmer and a dunge rusher, that's good:P . Might slow down a bit more to unlock those un-doable doors. As for the summoning, bloody great! Cause that gives more use to the carrying familars, because by the time i find the charm+bag, i just tele back to the smuggler and get a strong combat familar, cause i can get a higher teir combat one for the boss :-/ Where was it in the announcements though? Was it in the patch notes?

getting bananas
Your farming level does not affect how often things die. I'm level 92, and i still have plenty of sweetcorn/limpwurt/maples die. With your banana issue, when i get bananas, i like to get a terrobird full of baskets, 23 baskets in your invent, glory+duel ring (that makes a total of 35 baskets - equal to a week of 5 fruit trees a day). Just doing that once a week is good. It isn't that hard really. Plus, it's pretty much picking each tree ones, and about 5 twice. You won't get easier then that. The G.E. is useless for bananas, they will never buy (had 1k on max for a month, 200 brought in that entire time). I do suggest that, upgrade to pineapples or papayas as soon as possible, best exp. Pineapple seeds are rather cheap, plus pineapples themselves always sell.

Dungeoneering.
Another tip to save your brain. Examine everything you don't know. It tells you what "tier" it is. Best way to look at it: Tier 6=level 50. Teir 10=level 90. So basically 10 levels below. The exceptions are farming; which annoyingly does not tell you anything close to a teir or level requirement by examining. And Herblore, they seriously screwed that up (Examine "Teir 3" herb. Try to clean tier 3 herb, "You require 70 herblore to clean this".)

Nomad is a good guy?
Ah, you see exactly what i was trying to point out. I have a feeling that a sequel to WGS+Nomad would be yet another GM Quest, but after they have finished the rest of the mahjarrot storyline and/or are at the point of the ritual (As isn't Lucian already pretty much done and ready for the ritual?) Nomad, IS a mahjarrat If it were to 'implode on death' he would not say you have doomed the world as you have not killed him. On the other hand however, if it were to implode on death (somehow connected to him), he would more or less say this to his downfall. Which can also related back to my theory, that he wants to kill Lucian. If Lucian kills him, the soul alter would "implode". As far as i know, people get paranoid with secrets. Some people get defensive (in Nomad's case, having a "Steaming temper"). With your statement though, if what Lucian was doing was illegal, was does he say "you have doomed this world" after you have stopped him, and what do Zamorak/Lucian's minions have to do with that?
